Great! Thanks, again, zoogs - my wife appreciates it. This is going to be the first weekend that we've been able to go out since my accident - it's been almost four months, and I certainly owe her. And she promised we'd be back by 7:15 or so, so that I can catch the game. Just couldn't be sure I'd be back 30 minutes before the game.

Actually, it was a motorcycle accident. I initially stated it was an ATV because I had let my motorcycle license expire. Worse, it was my brother's bike - totalled it. So, to avoid (ahem) problem, I stated ATV. I won't bore you with the details, but suffice it to say that I took a curve too fast on a county backroad that I hadn't been on in 20 years, easily. My mistake - I committed the sin of assuming I knew the curve, and I was wrong. Very dumb move for someone that's been riding since age 8. Anyway, I overcorrected to prevent wiping out on the asphalt, and managed to correct (at a pretty good clip) into a driveway and then a field beside it. Trouble was, there was a ditch between the road and the field, and it was filled with those large, gray, sharp, ornemental stones. I tried to bail on the bike, but didn't quite make it (for those of you who don't ride and decide to take it up, be sure and take the safety courses - the biggest problem for newbs is that when things go wrong, they hang on to the bike for dear life and get taken whereever the bike goes; you want to bail if possible, but most people freeze when they start out).
I didn't quite clear the bike - one foot became trapped. Broke my foot and dislocated all the toes on it. To add insult to injury, the bike apparently whipped around and hit me - result was three crushed vertebrea. After five days in the hospital unit, it was a full torso brace. That lasted from about July 29th through November 2nd. The cast on the foot was better - only seven weeks. The bike ended up in the ditch. And if you're wondering, yes, I bought my brother a replacement. Harleys are expensive, by the way...
You probably didn't notice, but I was off the Board for weeks. When I finally got back on, it was tough. That brace cut off my breathing when I was seated - very difficult to get my breath. But I had to wear it at all times whenever I was not in bed - and in bed, I had to be flat on my back at all times. I'm healed up pretty good now. Muscles in the back and pelvic girdle atrophed while in the brace, and I'm slowly working them back into shape.
