Iowa game

Wow, every one of you are on here talking smack about Iowa. Nebraska's so great. . . blah blah blah. Try showing some respect for teams in your new conference.

To the one looking for a hawkeye forum- www.hawkeyenation.com and I promise no one will be on there talking Sh1t about Nebraska.
Yup I sure am sorry but I've been receiving crap from Hawkeye fans since 2002 for no reason. I've never said a damn thing to Hawkeye fans because A. We played in different conferences B. We don't play Iowa on a yearly basis C. My whole moms side of the family are Hawkeye fans and D. Its Iowa...I could really careless about Iowa.

My best buddy since 6th grade is a Notre Dame fan and I hate Notre Dame with a passion but you will never see me talk trash to his face or rubbing the loss in his face.

When Nebraska got beat by ISU during the 99' season I heard about that loss every week both during the season and the offseason. Sure there were other losses that they would bring up and rub in but the ISU game is by far the most used loss that they (Iowa fans) bring up. When Iowa got beat by Western Michigan in 07' I never rubbed that loss to my Hawkeye co-workers but I sure did laugh about it with my Husker friends and family members. BTW I was rooting for Iowa when you played against Mizzou in the bowl game.
Wow, the joke was on you. Nebraska won that game by, like, 35 points in '99.
Wow looks whos on my back yet again....sorry hit two 99's on accident suppose to be 09' but I think you know what game I was talking about :thumbs

Wow, pass the cool-aid. Maybe if I am drinking what you all are the Hawks will go 12-0 this year. I can not stress enough what others have tried to. INJURIES. When you play more run, as the B1G does, your guys tend to get banged up. Iowa would have NEVER beaten Missery last year, if they didnt have a month to prepare. Why because of injuries. Northwestern took a slide during their season, why? Persa got injured. Iowa was down to 4th string RB, (who's Nebraskas 4th string RB?) You can be as fast as you want, but that one time you get planted could very well be your last for the season. Look at the story someone told of your old coach "gonna show em how it's done". I think Nebraska will do fine in the B1G, but to think it's going to be easy and "OH St and Wiskey" are the only good teams, give me a break. Go ask OH and Wiskey fans who else is tougher than nails in this conference, they know, until then you all are speculating on a game here or there against big 10 teams. BTW I love Wiskey ball, but they know Iowa had their number last year and the only reason they won was poor clock skills on Iowa's side. That was a good game. That is the kind of game I hope Nebraska brings to the table.

I am sure you have seen it, but this is how we run it in the B1G

Also take notice of how many Missrey players were within 4 yards of the line, when Coker planted that kid.

You do know our top RB, Roy Helu, put up 307 yards rushing on Mizzou, right? And NU has had just as many injuries playing in the B12 as Iowa has had in the B10.

Hey, I was just saying, you want to put yourself up with the Buckeyes, that's fine. But as one of the other posters put it, respect is earned. The buckeys are just far better talent wise than Wiskey or Iowa. But I am certain they dont take those two games lightly infact I would bet they would say those are the two hardest games . Iowa and Wiskey loved playing each other because they play the same type of ball. Kind of the whole who can push who around thing. By the time Huskers and the Hawks play, I can bet 60 plus percent of who wins that game will depend on who has the most starters out. Iowa has pretty light games next year, while the Huskers don't and Wiskey is a meat grinder.

I can assure we will be taking no games lightly here. Ignore some of fans and their emotional angst against Iowa, Im sure its more related to their personal experiences with a few bad bird from Iowa that ran their mouths.

We all understand that we have an incredibly tough schedule this year against teams our current players have never played against, but please also remember that us Husker fans are extremely proud of our great history, especially that we have been ranked by many as one of the most prestigious programs in the country.

Some of our fans in a light hearted manner (and some not) have somewhat crossed the boundary on what Nebraska most prides itself on however, which is our class and how respectful we are to other programs.

Once again I ask our fans to show respect to other programs, even if we don't like them.

Also lets stop this stupid argument of size and speed, we are getting no where with it. Let's just leave it on the field.

Live in Council Bluffs. Was brought home from the hospitol when I was born in Husker pjs. The Huskers are just as much a part of me as anything. We have to beat these guys. I don't want us to come away with anything less than a 50 point win.

The one thing I'll say about Iowa ... They were the cornhuskers back when we were the bugeaters. They switched and we took their nickname.

Good thing too, cuz they couldn't live up to the name/tradition nowadays

Good point about NU having just as many injuries as Iowa. We happen to lose our first and second (what we perceived to be at the time) best linebackers right before the year. We also had two QBs injured. Iowa loses a ton this year and will be around 7-5. Also, your sh**ty kicker that you guys bitched about all year may or may not have hit that FG to win the game. So that decent coach you guys overpay only cost you a chance to win the game.

To go along with your cute video theme, this is how we deal with Hawkeyes.

corncraze, I'm sorry, I usually give respect to most teams unless they give me a reason not to. Iowa is one of them..........just the way it goes. sCUm was one also along with KSUcks, rude fans, for the most part, that seriously drink the kool-aid. I don't drink the kool-aid in reference to NU. We'll most likely have a prediction thread about the upcoming season and I'll realistically put down what I think will happen. That doesn't involve a undefeated season, IMO. Iowa needs to show some class before they get my respect and none of the guys I work with show any class. I don't run my mouth about NU, but they are constantly running their mouths about Iowa.

Funny, I feel the same way about the Nebraska fans I work with and class. They show none and are always running their mouth.

For example....? What do they say to you that shows "no class?"
I live with one and all her family is there. I dont think you have enough years left on this rock, for me to tell you how smug and loud and proud they are. Only reason they tolerate me as a Hawk fan is because I am a B1G fan and they know Nebraskas move to the B1G was a good thing. I was not trying to be a _ick, just trying to point out running down hill in the -12 was so easy our 4th string freshman with only 7 games under his belt tore Missery up. Could he do that against Wiskey or OH, pry not, that's why I was glad he played the bowl game, gave him some experience. I know Nebraska is sitting on some talent. I am hoping for a good game and I hope both teams are reasonably healthy givin the late date of the game.

Out of curiosity, do they say things about Nebraska like you just said about Iowa? That's a pretty cocky statement from a fan of a team that only has 11 conference titles and 25 bowl appearances in 120 years.

If the Nebraska fans you know talk like that, be comforted by the fact that they root for a team with four times the number of conference titles as your team, actual real national championships, numerous major trophy winners, and as many bowl wins as your team has appearances. So at least they have a reason to boast about their team.
