Official HB Good Beer Thread

Honestly, I can't remember what these beers tasted like last night. I was drunk and everything tasted the same. But here goes nothing...

Called Cornstalker. Brewed in Kearney, Nebraska. I know it was a dark beer. From what I can remember, it taste kinda like coffee.

Shiner Blonde. Brewed in Texas. Probably the best tasting beer of the night. Don't remember the taste enough to make a comparison.

Don't know why I haven't looked at this thread yet, but anyways I went to Grandmothers the other night with the girlfriend to have some nachos and a beer. Was feeling like something different so I asked what they had on tap and the waiter mentioned Schilling Bridge which I had never heard of before, apparently it's brewed in Pawnee City. I'm guessing the kind that I had was Lemon Lime Lager. It was perfect! This stuff is what any lime flavored beer should be like, doesn't have that pine-sol taste like bud light lime. Pretty sweet with excellent flavor and a smooth finish no bitterness whatsoever. It was dark in there but it looked almost like a blond wheat beer with the slight cloudiness too it. I think the best part was when I burped afterward and it tasted like lemon/lime/orange (that citrus taste they have in common).

I would highly recommend this beer if you're looking for a change up for the end of summer and a really refreshing beer. Could of drank 6 or 8 glasses without batting an eye but I had to drive. GF even loved it and she's pretty picky about beer, usually doesn't like my Guinness or wheat beers.

Moose Drool Brown Ale. Big Sky Brewing. (Sort of like Third Stone Brown. Mellow brown ale with sort of a graham cracker taste.)

Old Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout. North Coast Brewing (Fairly intense. Not for beginners.) Note that EVERY beer I have ever had from North Coast has been outstanding.

Claymore Scotch Ale. Great Divide Brewery. (Easily in my top ten. Thick consistency . . . but more sweet than bitter.)

Alright . . . here is the most intense beer I have ever had. In fact, it's a bit too much for me but my fiance loves it. Huge bourbon flavors . . . one bottle has more flavor than a couple cases of your average beer.

Bourbon County Stout. Goose Island. Crazy stuff. If you are someone who thinks Guinness is a little on the wild side, don't go near this one.

My personal favorite is their porter, the Edmund Fitzgerald. It's so thick, you could cut it with a knife.

Unfortunately Great Lakes beer is tough to find outside of the Ohio/S Michigan/W Pennsylvania area, so the next time you're in Ohio (see Oct 2012) seek some out. It's life changing!

To the Blue Moon/Shock Top drinkers: Hoegaarden is a great choice, as is Leffe, Wittekerke (in a light blue can), and Duvel (Awesome stuff, 8.5% alc)

Are there any Chimay fans out there?

How about Fin du Monde from Unibroue? One of my favorites.

Lastly, if I'm cuttin the grass on a hot day, it's got to be Bud concrete.
