BTN & NU

One thing I will have to get use to is that NU is Northwestern not Nebraska. I have clicked an NU link twice on the BTN thinking it was about the Huskers. I know they won't want to switch to NWU (which I think makes sense and what it should be) Since we are the new kid on the block I think we need to change it. Do you change it to UNL? UN? NebU? UNeb? NeU? UNe? NEBR?

How bout we dont change and demonstrate through dominance and crushing their souls who NU is and has always been! Not to mention who the real Big Red is too.

Just saying...

I'm sure this has been asked before, but why is the "University of Nebraska" shortened to "NU"? Shouldn't it be "UN"? Just something that's puzzled me for a long time. I remember a friend had a shirt in like third grade that said "UN" and I made fun of him because Nebraska is "NU".

Nebraska = NU

Northwestern = nú (which means slave or servant, in Mandarin pinyin for 奴)
