DT Carlos Watkins [Clemson Commit]

It is a Clemson/UF battle, with Nebraska fighting uphill (big time). But you never know what can happen at a night game in Memorial Stadium.
Uphill - if that hill were the equivalent of Everest, then yes it's an uphill battle. :) Just a few days ago his final 4 did not include Nebraska, and now he is willing to visit. Makes little sense why he has a sudden interest in visiting.
The reason is his pal, Bullard is coming in and both of these long shots decided to take, as has been mentioned before, a free trip to what is a "big time game"

Actually, I know that's not it. Bullard has wanted to take a trip to Lincoln for months, and is genuinely interested. He seriously loves the coaching staff, and isn't a longshot. Are we the favorite, no. But we are by no means trailing by alot either.

Could end up being a Zack Bowman like situation. Kid who everyone thought was headed elsewhere, but quietly kept Nebraska in it for months and always wanted to take a visit. Took his visit, and fell in love.

With Watkins, it's the opposite. His buddy likes the Huskers, but Watkins has never been that interested in Nebraska. Did not even put us in his final 4, then he solidifies his visit plans to come see us. Just weird with him.

These guys are usually not even die hard CFB fans, so the hassle (yes it is a hassle) of coming to a campus for the weekend to watch a game is not something they plan just to see a game. These are not 40 year old men. These are kids.

Funny story. I grew up with Bowman (that's what we knew him as). He moved to Alaska when we were in middle school. I'm going to Chicago in December for work. I've gotten in touch with him and I'm going to meet up with him when I'm up there.

You said it best in another thread Paul, it's a Cyrus Hobbi type visit for these two studs.

Sean Callahan said that Bullard is up in the air for OSU because he hasnt taken the ACT yet. Hes taking it this week and it needs to be sent to the NCAA and clear before he can take an official. He was pretty confident that even if he didnt make it to OSU that he would come later down the road. He praised JP for us being on him as long as we have, and it sounds like Bullard is somewhat interested, unlike Watkins. Which in the long run might be better. Maybe he cant make it to OSU so neither come, and Bullard comes later with a family member, or solo.

Also sounds like we will be taking 17 or 18 this year, which sounds much better then 13-14
