Upgrade

Did the mods password on the server change? I can't seem to get in with the old password, if i am remembering it right that is.

 
Do we have the ability to modify the content displayed on the Index page? If so, I would vote for:

  • Get rid of the list of birthdays
  • Increase the number of displayed Status updates from five to ten
  • Increase the number of Recent topics from five to ten
  • Shorten the width of the top section (which contains the banner ad & Leaders/Legends graphics) to equal the width of the forums, then have the right-hand column start immediately underneath the banner (immediately below "View New Content").



People really like the Status updates, and they generate a lot of traffic. Allowing more of them would only benefit the site and create more conversation.

Nothing against the people with birthdays, but I just don't see this as a big driver of interest. If nothing else, could we move that module to the bottom?

Yeah and we should definitely get to that. Good suggestions. Right now though, I don't think we can change anything....except for what's located in a 'block' (i.e, the featured link)

Alhough I was looking around for a way to increase the # of status updates and didn't find it.

Dave, I've pinned the topic that has the information. The one thing I would recommend changing is the host - remove the IP address and substitute huskerboard.com.
