2008 Miami Northwestern Football Team

This team had to be one of the best teams in the last decade. 15-0 and state title with a loaded team.

:star :star :star :star WR - Tommy Streeter - 20.3 career ypc 7 TDs

:star :star :star :star OL - Benjamin Jones - Starter

:star :star LB - Lavonte David - Single Season tackling record for Nebraska

Thats an impressive atheletic line up, if they could put it together on the feild consistantly and with no off-feild distractions.

Glad Lavonte found his way to Lincoln.

Crazy how David was a 2 star and turned out to be the best player out of the bunch IMO. They even spelled his name wrong, Levonte is what they had. He signed with Middle Tennessee State before going to Fort Scott and then Nebraska.

Wow. In HS did this team win every game by 28 points or more!? Honestly... did they ever get beat?

 
^ looks like they were right on most of those though.

...and it's pretty difficult to judge a LB. little different than rating a WR, QB, or RB IMO.

You can't really say that because whoever recruits the best usually is the top team in the nation. They can't be right on every player in the country. But yes, it doesn't ALWAYS matter.

David is originally from Miami, where he played at national prep powerhouse Miami Northwestern. While he was at the school, Northwestern won back-to-back state titles in 2006 and 2007, and finished with unbeaten records each year (30-0). In 2007, Northwestern was listed as the No. 1 team in the country by USA Today, and won the state title 41-0.

 
Anytime I think of Miami Northwestern I think of the video below and the magnificent coaching staff that does such a good job of motivating their players..

That would be incorrect. Texas always has a top 5 recruiting class they didn't even make a bowl game last yr. Notre Dame is also another top 5 recruiting team that hasn't done much in the last few years.

stars are only one part of the equation. you can have all the talent in the world and lose every game because your coaching is horrid. you severely underestimate how accurate star ratings really are.

something to think about, 95%, and that is the actual number, of 5 star recruits are drafted in the NFL draft (80% in the first two rounds). 70% of 4 star recruits are drafted in the NFL draft at some point. 5% of 3 star recruits are drafted and less than 1% of 2 star recruits are drafted. those numbers mean that the stars are more often accurate than not.

another thing to think about. there are around 25 five stars, 200 four stars, around 800 three stars, and a couple thousand 1-2 stars so obviously statistically you should expect to see more lower rated athletes in the draft than higher rated athletes becuase they are outnumbered 1 to 120 or so.

i hate this argument because people will never agree but facts is facts is facts....
