SIGNED QB Johnny Stanton

I know everyone loves them so much but Johnny's the lead part of the article on ESPN today:

Johnny Stanton, a California state champion and Nebraska-committed quarterback, regularly fights the perception that because he runs well, he can't throw the football.Scouts and coaches and fans, in offering praise, compare Stanton to Tim Tebow. He's heardJake Locker comparisons, too.

Flattering assessments, but Stanton, who rushed for 1,528 yards and 25 touchdowns and threw for 2,439 and 13 scores as a junior at Santa Margarita Catholic, said he'd prefer none of it.

"I want to be more Johnny Stanton than anyone else," he said this week as competition progressed among the 25 quarterbacks at the five-day Elite 11 finals.

Good article, but can we all, as Husker fans, agree NOT to call him "Johnny Tebow?"
That would be a slap in the face to Johnny.
It's Johnny "the jumbo jet" Stanton..... Putting in for a copyright!!!! Time to get PAID$$$$$
But that sounds like a name for a huge fat guy.

I've never understood the habit of trying to be the first to give a player a nickname in hopes that "my name is the one that sticks". There aren't any medals to hand out for the most original name. Let's allow him to sign an LOI and get on campus and beyond his redshirt year before we dub him the next savior of our program. No wonder these kids have huge egos.

I'm as happy as anyone that he wants to call Lincoln home a year from now and I'd love to see him become all I think he can be. I'll start paying attention to him when he starts climbing the depth charts.
