    I don't know if our "best players" are being held back by others, but there are a good number of players that don't see playing time for whatever reason, and then finally get on the field and excel.  Damon Benning has mentioned it after the Purdue game, that he doesn't think the coaching staff are good evaluators of talent (when it comes to putting kids on the field in games).

    IDK, it just seems like it takes circumstances beyond coaching decisions for anything to make much sense. The stuff they decide to do on purpose often leaves us scratching our heads. It all feels like it gets flung against the wall to see what sticks and not much has been sticking.

    or maybe they're worn down by injuries.  Casualty of not having depth to rotate.  I wonder how many snaps our current linemen have versus the lineman on our more successful-traditional teams?  Seems like those guys were able to be spelled a lot due to blowout wins.  Everyone just seems tired.

    Haven't seen him do tackling but a few times all year.  And he's had tons of opportunity to do so.  I don't see it changing

    @BIGREDIOWAN yeah.  That is why.  I'm being a little sarcastic.  I did have the same kind of reaction though. . 'Who?' Followed by underwhelmed.

    I wish I could get more apathetic about it. I don’t want to care but it still bothers me. At least when we get our doors blown off it won’t bother me because I expect it now. I feel like Eeyore.

    What a coincidence. Just a few short days ago I spotted Melvin Gordon still running yet again. The law of probability says eventually they will collide and stop each other.

    Yeah, no one has tackled Melvin Gordon yet either. Last week I saw one of Minnesota's tight ends running wide open through my yard as well.

    I don't mean to be mean ... but based off our last 15 years ... they should.  It would be fascinating to look through the recruits we missed out on and how they turned out.  I know when we missed out on Owa who went to UCLA we were all really disappointed (I know I was) ... but that guy never really did anything in college or the pro's did he?

    I don't trust these coaches to judge the talent level or capabilities of the backups. Literally anybody should've replaced Lee today. It goes way beyond whatever POB or Gebbia are showing in practice. It is simply coaching ineptitude.

    If it was me I'd have benched Lee after the pick 6. I'm not sure how much Riley needs to see from the guy before deciding he's not a very good QB, and I've been a Lee defender up to this point. The mistakes today were entirely on him. Couldn't blame the OL today.

    He did show some moxie today after that. They definitely tried to shift as much responsibility away from him as possible, but he was big on that drive capped off with the TD strike.

    I'm still not convinced our ceiling as a team is very high at all with him at QB or with this coaching. The defense has really continued the improvement from that rough start. They only gave up 10 points today. Diaco seems like he's turning out to be a great hire.
