    No more tip-toeing around this.  I'm just going to say it...the tunnel walk sucked this year and expectations were set pretty low after last year's version.

    I loved the red light effect, but that was usually in between the 3rd and 4th quarters wasn't it?  Also, why didn't they do that in the Iowa game?

    I say the tunnel walk sucks at the beginning of the year and get bashed for it. Another guy makes the exact same claim after the season is over and people actually agree. Strange

    I'm getting the sense that our 0-fer record is almost a badge of pride for the fans.  It means more than just winning and losing.

    @Cdog923 I do not believe the pride is for the record, but more for things moving in the right direction. I feel good about the progression, not the record, as you point out. That will come, just maybe not as fast as one would like.

    That showing at Evanston, Ill., shows that Nebraska fans have no equal. We're 0-5 and taking over somebody else's stadium to the point where they have to go to a silent cadence. WOW! Impressive!

    I kept hearing how UCF didn't have any soft tissue injuries last season, but somehow we get one in the first game to our most important player. Frost has to overcome some serious bad mojo.

    I hope Pickering carries on our streak of good kickers.  We have made 82% of our field goals since '05 but our worst year was Drew Brown's first season.  That makes me nervous in a season that I think we will have some tight games.

    Um...probably after the 30 for 30 film on the Scott Frost megathread airs.

    I'm doing my interview next Tuesday, and I'm probably in the middle of the pack as far as the posters go.

    Going to my first game this year and I'm bringing my 5 year old to his first home game.  I have a pretty good idea of what to expect from the team, but I'm hoping the crowd and the experience don't let me down. Wear red, be loud! (even if it's just for my kid)

    Has it been mentioned at all that not only did our O-line shut down Rolland-Jones, but I never heard him mentioned in a play?  I heard a lot about him leading up to the game, but it doesn't seem like any credit was given for shutting him down.

    I didn't think he got a sack.  Forget what I said if he had one.  I thought he ended with just a couple tackles.

    Major lack of excitement at the media day press conference. Didn't even have enough questions to fill the time. Even Brohm at Purdue used the whole time.

    The thing is that the side sessions are SO HARD to hear. Like insanely difficult - and somehow they made it worse this year.

    That's definitely where the more interesting stuff happens but unless you stand there for an hour with a recorder and then listen through the audio later, you can barely hear a word spoken by anyone popular.

    Trying to get to Riley, Fleck and the NU players today to ask about the chair. If I can accomplish those three I'm not even going to bother trying to hear anyone else it's such a chore.

    The big room is intimidating, the individual podium stuff is an overcrowded marketplace. Weird dichotomy.

    Honestly, I've never really paid that much attention to the live press conference. I just read the quotes online. I was bored at work and decided to watch. It's all making sense to me know that the good stuff is coming out later.

    The Bud Crawford fight will be the biggest event the PBA will ever hold. Is there anything that could even compare to this?

    His last fight was a headliner at Madison Square Garden. This is a bigger fight than that.

    I guess that's a pretty big deal. I didn't give it much credit initially because boxing is only a fraction of what it used to be and I'd never heard of the guy before. How'd they get a fight like that in Lincoln?

    He's a local kid who takes less money to fight in his backyard to promote Omaha, NU, even CU, and now Lincoln. He has fought in MSG and in Dallas too, but mostly fights out of Omaha after becoming world champ.

    Is it just me, or has very little been made about the change to a 9 game conference schedule. I didn't realize that happened this year.

    For some reason I thought it was next year. Maybe that changed when we added Maryland and Rutgers? I lost track somewhere and was surprised to see 9 conference games this summer.
