    Dilly - start showing him the benefits of being active and exploring.   Try to push the positive side -- he may be just tired of a dead end job.  If you live in a metro area there are a lot of volunteer things he could do.  If he likes cars, there are organizations or churches that sponsor free car care clinics for people who need the help - the list is endless.   Give him a few weeks - he'll get bored - then provide some solutions to that boredom.

    @TGHusker - trust me, he won't get bored.  I am suggesting a part time job, or volunteer work - just something he has to get out of the house for.  If nothing else, to give ME a break.
