  • Just had a weird thought that made me go "huh": Nebraska football has had 4 straight years of starting on the road against a Big 10 team (2020, OSU; 2021, Ill; 2022, NW; 2023, MU). Part of that was wanting to go to Ireland to start the year, but 4 years straight of opening on the road feels weird.

Probably in the minority, but of the two B1G teams playing today, I dislike the other NU more. I don't have the words to describe it, but its the feeling that the other NU can do no wrong and that since their so well coached they get no penalties called against them.

I certainly respect OSU but do hate the BIG homerism towards them.  We saw same with Texas in the Big 12.  The worst is the NBA...it has been going on a long time there based on who the league wants to be fashionable.  Get rid of it across all sports.  You think the BIG treats Nebraska and OSU the same?  Just get rid of it.  But that's tough to do when the BIG wants to see their team in playoff, etc.

I agree @chamrocck, my questioning was about the OP's dislike for the other NU.

I guess I don't dislike either team. I can only respect each of them. NW plays disciplined and does more with less. tOSU may get favoritism from the B1G but I can only hold that against the conference. The Buckeyes do pretty well earning their own way. People hated Nebraska for years because we were so good. I won't hate them for that reason. I actually felt some kinship from them this year but I still wanted them to lose today to spite the conference. So I'm petty....

Jealousy is a part I guess, but the last NU offensive play, the OSU separated the ball from the TE/WR and the first thing he does is look at the ref and do the targeting motion (wasn't even close).

We're at 2 references to the fact that NU didn't want Burrow. (I'm 100% hindsight is 20/20 and it was only a mistake with his initial recruitment, not in 2018)

@NUance, OSU fans not beating ourselves up and I think everyone is happy for him. It seems as if there are no hard feelings between Burrow and OSU.

And now we'll hear about it for the next 14 years haha.

@The Dude, I don't know...We don't hear how Michigan basically wasted the time they had with Tom Brady. Also, it won't matter if Burrow doesn't develop into a top tier QB for my Bengals. I wanted him in the draft, but I can't put too much faith into that franchise.

Watching 2012 NU/PSU and how many times have we seen a Safety (or really any DB) read and jump a route for an INT in the last few years?

I think lack of continuity has affected the DBs the most. This will be the first year since Joseph or Raymond that they've had the same coach in the room for more than a single year. There's been some talent (Kalu, Jones, Gerry are all in the NFL), but with the improvement seen last year by the CBs, I'm interested in seeing what they do this year.

Simmons with a couple of plays in the first half so far. A dude that Riley couldn't reel in.

He was looking for a reason not to be N. Doubt that happens with Frost.

Unless I saw wrong, LSU/A&M should already be over. A&M QB attempted to spike the ball under 2 seconds at the end of the game.

Had confirmation from an A&M fan that he snapped at 3, but I still have not seen a replay.  Also A&M sure got a favorable PI call on their 2 point conversion.

    It was 3 seconds.

Saw Jurassic World: Lost Kingdom.  Franchise has turned into more of a monster movie for Dinosaurs, but it was enjoyable outside a few cringe parts. Think the marketing did the movie dirty by showing what happens once the Dinos are off the island.

I mean, it turned into that back in 1997. The sense of wonder and gee whiz is long gone, unless you're a kid too young to remember the original.

Surprise result of the day, Iceland drew with Argentina 1-1.  Skol

World cup is fine with ties in the first round. It really shouldn't matter anyways that early.

If the force is for everyone, why can only white humans use it?

but finn did fight kylo and hold his own for a bit. he showed some skill.  it wouldn't shock me if we find out he has some latent force powers...much like leia in the originals.

This is a fictional show, right? Or is there a real force and real perceived white bias involved?

Are we even sure they are human? I mean, this is in a different galaxy, so why would we assume they are human? Do the books give any indication?
