    Heading up to Chicago for the Northwestern game and looking to book an airbnb. Any natives willing to give advice on which areas to stay in? Trying to make it without renting a car, looks like the red line and purple line can get me to ryan field?

    I used the Metra once with my fiancée and her aunt. It was a lot quicker than the L (fewer stops) but I think it's more expensive and not as easy to figure out. @knapplc From personal experience, we stayed in Evanston a few years ago, took the L downtown and then walked to museum campus. It was probably 70 minutes of travel time overall. I've also taken the O'Hare train down to the loop and, IIRC, that was about 45-50 minutes.

    I'm looking at Airbnb's in the North Chicago area. Most of the things we want to do are around downtown, so a quick drive down Lakeshore should get us there.

    In past years by this time I would have all the recruits name memorized and what position they would play.  This year not so much.  I can tell you the names of maybe 5 kids.

    Why in the F would a university try to cover this stuff up? It boggles my mind.

    Many universities tried to cover it up because they have gotten away with it for decades.  They didn't want to risk losing a great athlete that could make a difference on the field or on the court.  I don't think we've seen the end to these types of claims against university officials.  I sure hope NU is declared reasonably clean.

    Did 15,000 Nebraska fans end up going to the bowl game? I didn't get to watch the game on TV, only heard it on the radio.

    Well, I'm glad that there weren't a ton of fans there to embarrass us then. I also agree that we are a bit overbearing, living out of state and seeing it from an outsiders view.

    As much as I’m happy to see the B1G have a good bowl season, I cant get excited living vicariously through other teams’ success. Seems like a very SEC thing to do. Can’t wait for us to be contributing next year.

    I think the Nebraska football vs Nebraska b-ball shirt is an apples-orange comparison to the situation discussed. Wearing a Nebraska shirt to a UCF game is rubbing the UCF’s face in the dirt. You can wear some neutral shirt to the game, or even wear UCF colors.

    I am with the guys in this thread.  You don't need to wear your Husker gear to every game you go to.  You must have plain shirts that you can wear to a football game, or even black for UCF.

    I root for other teams in our conference because I'm tired of the SEC rhetoric and I'm tired of the B1G being referred to as weak as well.

    I think it's a travesty for Nebraska to hijack the Peach Bowl by wearing red.  Let UCF have this moment!  It makes us look like the country hicks that that many in the sports world perceives us to be!  

    As for living vicariously through the other teams in our conference, I'm not for that but I like watching good football and the teams in the B1G have played some good football during these bowl games.  

    Not being in a bowl game this year is humiliating. Not necessarily for the bowl game itself but that we were so bad that we couldn't even muster up 6 wins??? Embarrassing!

    If CFB and NFL have taught me anything, it’s that instant replay gets the calls wrong more often than right.

    I know this isn't a popular opinion, but I'd be ok with getting rid of instant replay. It slows down the game a lot and doesn't get the call correct enough times to justify it.

    @RedDenver I’m ok with that too. The 5 hour CFB are brutal.
