  • Dabo Swinney totally made a babyface turn for me.  Really likeable, and I hope he wins the natty.

I like Dabo too.  He’s the kind of guy who is comfortable in his own skin and a heck of a coach. Very down to earth.  My husband would say he’s the kind of guy you could have a beer with.

Bonus points for using the term "babyface".

Nah. He sucks. He doesn't wanna share his millions with the players who make his money. Sensitive subject for him

Will they ever expand the south stadium?

And maybe do something with the corners of the stadium, make it so they don't look like they were made out of Tinker Toys?

Why would they expand? The stadium doesn’t need to be bigger.

Even if they didn't increase total seats, they could make some benches wider...

Is 247 the best recruiting site?

From what i've read huskerboard gets info fairly quickly  on updates on recruiting so I'm not sure I'd spend the money. Mav and a few others here are on point.

If you want to look up a recruit's ratings and such, yeah, totally go for 247. If you're looking for rumors and such, though, I wouldn't bother, as that stuff usually gets around to boards like this one pretty quickly.

Just looked on a Hawkeye board for entertainment.  They are scared of us.

The 6 losses were a necessary evil IMO.  Tough love is always more beneficial in the long run.

@RedNebraskan Post a link? I mostly see delusion so far. Not that they'll win the game (that's not delusional) but that Nebraska is some s#!tty bottom feeder B1G team. It's like they're screaming yelling "I can't hear you" and pretending Mike Riley is still our coach.

They’re still Nebby & always will be. Let’s not get too worried.
    How dumb can you get?

What if we don't win a game this year?

Lol, + 1 for taking the pressure off me. I thought maybe I was not seeing what I was seeing. ;)

    1. Bethune Cookman is on the schedule

    2. The team is bound to come together for at least one Big Ten win

That's about all I can hope for after the past couple weeks.

I'll visit that feeling in December.  Right now I'm busy expecting to beat Purdue

I am so excited for Saturday, it really feels like Christmas.  Better, actually.

Uggg, honestly this has been such a drag and seems so freaking long that I am not even excited for Saturday yet, I am like spent.  I know come Saturday it will be awesome but right now it just seems to DRAG.

I am going to report this...for posting about using drugs and for bad acting.

Just watched Bill McCartney's presser on this weeks game.  He seems like a pretty decent guy who just happens to hate Nebraska.

He reminds me of a wrestling heel, which I always find amusing.  I don't remember him at all, so that also has something to do with it probably.

He was 3-9-1 against Nebraska. We kept them out of the 94' title game and that was his last season. CO was damn good that year beating 5 ranked teams, but not NEBRASKA :)

So Colorado really plays this up as a rivalry huh? Just read an article about their "hatred" for Nebraska.

I like it that they are writing in the CO papers "hatred for Nebraska" and "People who wear red hear about it."  We don't have this with Iowa or Wisky.

I mean, it was more heated and competitive for the last 20 years of our time in the Big 8/12 than Oklahoma was.

    Not a rivalry.

Why does rivals have us at 18th when scout and 247 have us at 25?  Whats with the 4 star discrepancy?

Each of the services evaluates players a little differently so I'm guessing Rivals places a higher value on the recruits we've signed so far versus some of those other services.

Ended the day with 24 guys and the #22 class per 247

So what is the biggest difference between Duval and Phillips? Sipple was saying the other day that there really isn't much difference, but I don't buy that.

@RedNebraskan Riley probably didn't want to mess with too many things at his age and stage in his career, and he probably managed the players like that at Oregon State and let the players be accountable to themselves.  In some years, that probably worked great.  In some years, it probably worked poorly.  That's how you get to be a career .500 coach.

I dont know the answer but one thing is for sure -- they're going to be stronger and more in shape than they ever have been and have the best team chemistry ever, too.  (I actually may believe that this year, hopefully not to my detriment)

It's possible Philipp was a good coach but the coaches above him refused to let him give any kind of punishment. E.g. the threat of reduced playing time or not starting.

So I see Adam Thielen as a "walk-on" for the Vikings.  Born and raised in Minnesota, played at a small college, and signed as an undrafted free agent.  The guy is an absolute stud and one of the top receivers in the NFL.

Not to be a buzz kill at all, but the walkon numbers this year compared to the last 5 years really isnt shockingly different.  I dont understand why people are calling it a resurgance.  Maybe Im missing something...

    krc1995
    krc1995
Maybe look into the numbers more.  I'm not sure, but maybe Riley "allowed" walk-ones as an afterthought when guys didn't sign, didn't end of qualifying, or didn't show up.  Frost is appearing to offer walk on spots as part of the planned roster

I think having a strong walk-on program is a good thing but I don't understand the preoccupation with it. In the current environment and situation this program is in I would think that is the least of our worries. It was great to have those 4th stringers help push the guys ahead of them and to have the few grow into contributors but of much more concern right now is our 1st and 2nd string and recruiting for the future. Walk-ons aren't near as crucial to winning anymore imo. I hope half of what SF has said about it is just to placate some old timers.

Im pretty sure he will treat it more like TO did. Much more chance for guys to show up and try to make the team b/c he is going to have more kids on the squad. Heard something like 160-165.

So how long do you think Frost stays here ?

    Scarlet Overkill
    Scarlet Overkill
In my estimation, 28-30 years - long enough for his son to guide us to a national championship and then said son will get into coaching, work his way up to take over for Papa after around 6-8 years of experience.

If either Bama, Clemson, or Wood River HC jobs open he will leave.

    R
    Ric Flair
He leaves in 4 years to replace a retiring Urban Meyer at his dream job at Ohio State. Nebraska then replaces him with a roughly 70 year old and recently fired Herm Edwards coming off a 4-44 stint at Arizona State.
