  • Anybody else think MoWa gets his hand slapped for tweeting from the locker room during the game?  Injured or not - I'm betting this isn't a Frost approved act.

I do not follow him.  They read the tweet on the air during the game.  I would assume you do as most players do - either get yourself treated, dressed and back to the field to play or treated, into street clothes and back to the sideline to watch the game.  Nothing shocking content-wise for sure, but I'd bet anybody doing it would get spoken to.  Wasn't even thinking about his ongoing legal drama.

No big deal. Oh wait, he didn't tweet any child porn, did he?

Wishing for the eye roll back - new ownership what do you think?

I’d say bring back negative rep. Definitely do that.

NM +1. That is the way it should be (no ability to start a thread until x?).

& need to add this too, IMO. (For those special occasions) where some new posters slide in, under the radar.

Great site to check and make sure you're registered to vote, sign up for absentee ballot if needed or verify your voting location and representatives, one stop shopping!  www.iwillvote.com

Why do I need to register on this site to "commit to voting"?

This looks like a site that's doing nothing but getting my information to send me a bunch of political crap for one side or the other.

yep...at the bottom of the page.

By providing your phone number you are consenting to receive calls to that number from the DNC and each of the individual state parties. You also agree that you would like to receive periodic text messages from the DNC. Msg&Data rates may apply. Text STOP to cancel or HELP for help.

I didn't get that ... my link took me to the state of Massachusetts Secretary of the State website and allowed me to search by name address etc.  I didn't mess with "I commit to vote" but instead "check if I'm registered".  Perhaps that's the difference?

Edit: just tried for the state of NE and you don't have the same choice I do.    I checked MT, HI, NJ, AL, FL, WA, WV, UT, TX, NH, SD and others and they all have the screen below.  Only Nebraska, North Dakota And Maine don't  have the option.  So I'm sorry BRB.  Wasn't trying to corner anybody - odd that most states allow online verification except a handful.  If I have time later I'll contact the site directly about the requirements for those states.  I find that really unusual.  And I don't blame you - I don't give my info to anybody.View attachment 13431

NOT a great day for the Boston Marathon ... miserable driving rain here, enough that they cancelled the Red Sox.  Would suck to be running in this.

It was a wonderful day! An American woman won for the first time in 33 years and US women dominated the top 10 with 8 finishers including two on the podium! Linden’s interview was really cool!

I agree @ladyhawke. If we could get to that point as a country it sure would make a whole bunch of issues easier to deal with. Unfortunately we still have a segment that doesn't understand there exists a gap between what the law says and what actually happens. And of course there is that other segment that doesn't acknowledge or desire equality. Hopefully some day...

Deep thought over cereal this morning.  In hats/tshirts etc I think "Huskers" can stand on it's own. But, if there's a "Nebraska" involved, it should always be "Nebraska Cornhuskers".  "Nebraska Huskers' looks silly.

Totally agree, use Huskers alone but Cornhuskers following Nebraska. But over cereal is no time to be delving into these deep philosophical issues.

Actually, I think this would be a good topic to bring up to Bill Moos.  He seems like a guy who is welcome to recommendations and not be complete a-holes to fans like a couple of our past AD's.

Do you like freely perusing HB?  Do yourself a favor and read about what repealing net neutrality would mean to us.  And then call your representatives!  For more info check out the topic in P&R.

I'd like to see a thread titled "Personal Decisions" to appear right beside the current Personnel Decisions thread.  Wonder what we might learn ...

I do not want Scott Frost in Nebraska.

    1.  I don't think 3 years is enough time for a new coach.  Riley getting pushed out at this time is setting a standard that we won't be able to move away from or overcome.  What coach would come in knowing that he is potentially out in 2-3 years?  What recruits would come knowing that history of late shows that the state doesn't support the coach?  That the chances of them having more than one coach in their college career is high?   2.  Seems like most people had issue with the AD.  So why not get a new one on board and see if that gives the program what it needs.  3.  Issues now (imo) are really tied to the OL - and I think a change there at the same level of the Diaco hire makes a huge difference in recruiting and performance of that position.  3.  You all can tell me that you'd be crushing on Frost even if he wasn't an alum, but I challenge that.  There aren't any other persons' of interest that you'd be taouting that have 10 years of coaching experience, and only 1 year at a HC level - and that one is in the The American Athletic Conference.  He may indeed be the next coming - but now is not the time to gamble.  4.  Those of you arguing that "now's the time - if we don't snag him now we never will".  Bunk.  IF he goes elsewhere this year (which I'd bet is a huge IF) and he wins and puts the time in, do you not think the NE gig, would be equally attractive to him in 2, 3, 5, 10 years down the line?  If it's something he wants to do, it will still be something he wants to do in several years.  When he's more proven.  When he has more experience.  5.  I don't think it's time to change HC's, but if you do it should be someone with name recognition (outside the state) that is of the caliper of the guns that have been mentioned here for years.  If you can't get that level - that's on us.  And if you can't then what we have is a pretty good damn fit.  6.  A program that starts over every3-5 years will never be successful.  Period.  There is no gaurantee the recruiting momentum continues with a new coach.  If I was a recruit that was graduating next year I wouldn't even glimpse at NU if there was another coaching change.  And we would certainly lose those who have verbally committed for 2017, as well as the regular attrition of players who are currently here that would leave after Riley left.  Sooooo many other points to make but I need to get out of the house and nobody needs to read more of my rant.

Riley isn’t coming back to coach next year. He’s so dejected, if he isn’t fired he’s retiring and over the pressure of this job. Go look at all his interviews since Ginger’s firing. He doesn’t have “it”. Frost does. We’re not the only one taking notice. 3 years is enough time just look at oh I don’t know, what Scott Frost is doing at UCF and tell me again that 3-years is not enough time. There is marked improvement between Frost’s team now and the 0-12 team. The recruiting argument is getting so old at this point. Yeah, a recruit might not come if a coaching change happens, but we’re not going to land the big fish if we’re 4-8. Hell, even if we do they won’t be coached up to succeed. I also am past the point of allowing Riley to fire people to keep

his job. The man has been coaching for 20+ years and should’ve been able to see the flaws in all the coaches he’s let go. He had an open checkbook to go out and get the best coaches and he brought in several of his buddies, only for them to continually suck (Hughes, banker, 450, cav, Langs). That doesn’t scream high coaching IQ to me.

If Riley loses to Wisconsin tomorrow, it's guaranteed he won't be back next year. You can't win the West if you can't beat Wisconsin and if he loses tomorrow, Riley will be 0-3 against Wisconsin.
