I like it because it's well-made and it's a compelling story.

It is well made and really it follows the step by step rules for that kind of topic.

I think Rudy is about as historically accurate as Remember the Titans, and nobody seems to have an issue with that show.

Is the issue that it's a movie about Notre Dame?

I actually don't like a lot of "sports" movies because they are usually poorly made and they are far too sensationalized.  The only exception may be Hoosiers.  I also loved Major League, but that was a comedy, and it was hilarious.

He was offsides. 

I always thought Matt Turman's career would have made a MUCH better Rudy type movie.  Turman played meaningful downs, instead of just one meaningless play in his last game.  He started the K-State game when Tommie and Brook were both out with injuries.  And we won, allowing us to go on to a national championship in '94.  

Sean Astin annoys me, I don't know why...

His best character was in "Goonies" and even then I liked watching the older brother beat on him...

@NUance Agreed about the Turmanator. He didn't do a lot in that KSU game, but he did enough, and played in a lot of games.

Rudy was bad.  I love football, but football movies are generally pretty awful.  Remember the Titans was not good either. 

@swmohusker   Yeah, Rudy was bad.  But not all football movies are bad.  What about The Longest Yard?  (the original)  

Huh... I liked both Rudy and Remember the Titans. I don’t understand what issue people may have with these movies. They’re Hollywood movies. They aren’t supposed to be 100% accurate, true or realistic. And it doesn’t matter if there could’ve been better subjects for the movie, that movie didn’t get made.

I also liked the SNL skit with JJWatt because it was funny.

Meh.

Most sports movies are the same. Team sucks at the beginning of the movie, team is the league champion by the end of it.

It's not "The Program" or "Varsity Blues" but it's an ok movie.

I almost liked Notre Dame when Parseghian coached them, Hated them when Granny Holth coached them.  The best part of the movie was that it wasn't about baseball.  The grey skies depressed me, but I've watched it by accident several times.
