12-Team Playoff On the Way; 14-Team to Follow

2nd Tier of the Big Ten is probably the biggest winner here.

Wisconsin, Iowa, Michigan State, Michigan, Penn State will frequently represent. Aside from coaching we can be right there alongside.

Don't have to get through Ohio State anymore to play a meaningful game in the postseason.

To put this into perspective, Tom Osborne would have only missed the playoffs in 1973, 1976, 1977, and 1990. They would have gotten a first round byes in 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1988, 1993, 1994, 1995, and 1997.

Since Osborne, we get in 1999, 2000, and 2001 but only get a first round bye in 1999.

I'm all for expanding the playoffs if it included smaller regional conferences and not the mega conferences we are headed towards. I hope all the money is worth it.

Saban is great but people forget it's easier now with the playoff era. 

Nebraska 5 titles with 0 total losses. 

 
Also, doesn't this just save the Big 12 and Pac 12? Auto bid if you win that conference. B12 will be elementary without Oklahoma and Texas. P12 seems it may lose USC and UCLA.
