***2016 Recruiting***

This recruiting class is not looking good at all so far. No new committments since Riley took over and two of our three recruits are looking around. But hey, 2017 is looking pretty promising so far...

VERY DISAPPOINTING! but that can literally change in one day. Just wait out the storm, i'm pretty bummed so far, but am trying to stay positive. I have a lot of faith in this new staff.

I wouldn't panic just yet. Coaches got in late on relationships for '16. If there isn't a commitment or two by the end of evaluation period, then I'd start to be worried.

Those are my thoughts. Staying positive, or at least trying to!
The staff is very deliberate on evaluation and relationship building, so things will be a little slower than others. Nothing like Pelini and his staff though. Its difficult not to look at other schools and get antsy. Places like OSU and USC already have been talking to these kids they've landed and are mostly regional kids. Michigan commits are mostly local kids, that are enamoured the Harbaugh name.

Evaluations perhaps but I'm not sure on relationship building. There have been several guys who've gotten offers recently who said they'd barely talked to anyone.

I know. I fully expect to hear more over the next month and a half.
Edit: I just want people to understand that the foundation for '16 got a late start. I'm willing to bet you'll hear less of prospects bearly hearing from anyone going forward.

Do you guys think part of it is that kids want to see what the "new" Nebraska looks like before committing? Especially offensive kids. They know what Nebraska has done in the past and they know about what OSU did, but they haven't seen a MR run Nebraska program yet. The more I think about it, the more I think that it's possible we might not see many recruits until were a good month into our season.

I think performance and the flow of our offense need to be good for guys to want to come. I think we are definitely a place that needs to perform to land big recruits. We have awesome EVERYTHING, but if we tank, it's an easy out for a kid to choose ASU, Miami, etc. over Nebraska. JMO!

I have not been impressed with the recruiting by Riley's staff, desperation will set in and we'll end up offering anyone who knows how to put on a helmet and pads
