*** 2019 Recruiting ***

According to the coaches and Schaefer, it doesn't.  idk
I guarantee if you gave any of them the option of having the kid there for the Tunnel Walk vs not they would choose Tunnel Walk every time.

It may not hurt much or matter in long run but I think it's something we'd prefer they experienced.

Oh well.

Sure the full experience is always preferred but it's not like it's helped dramatically.  We've been in the mid 20-30 recruiting rankings for 15 years.

When it's 28 degrees, snowing, and you're recruiting kids who are from climates that typically don't get below 60, the tunnel walk is a big deal.

That's easily the most adrenaline pumping part of the atmosphere when youre faced with those conditions, regardless of how competitive the game is.

I'm not thrilled with it but if we can get some consistency kicking on special teams and someone with a leg, I think it's worth it, personally.
You would think that with this maybe they are trying to show Caleb the door. Third string punter potentially. I guess if we end up with one scholarship punter I'd be okay with that. Hard to justify two though if Caleb stays.

What about the kid that replaced Lightbourne?  Does he deserve a scholarship?

I agree.  I'm actually of the thought process they'd be bringing this guy in to be the starter.  Otherwise I don't think they'd use a scholarship.

Evidently not.... He's only a freshman right? You'd think if they thought he was the guy for the future, they'd just let it ride. Unless they are looking more at the kicker part of punter/kicker for this kid. Whole host of kickers though it seems like with 2 walk ons and one scholarship.

This is proving to be difficult. We've truly been spoiled in both spots and now we are really struggling.
