2021 Fall Camp Notes - Running Backs

Sevy. They said he changed his body and got thinner up top and thicker below.

Can't be overstated what it would do for our program to have a couple of these young running backs emerge as strong, every-down type of backs that we could look forward to playing for four straight years.

I still say it's hard to tell what our run blocking will really look like this season but I'm excited about seeing our RBs against Illinois.

I agree and it's also one of the things I wonder about for this season.  I'm anxiously hopeful.

Held said that four backs are in the top group.

He wouldn't say who they are but Morrison, Stepp and Ervin got to talk to the media today.

running back by committee? i would guess there will be 2 preferred backs that emerge by the 3rd or 4th game, with spot duty  by the others as required by bumps and bruises.

Those three are pretty much a given from everything I've heard, but who's the fourth? Yant made a lot of fans in spring, but Scott or Johnson wouldn't be out of the question. Johnson's gotta be getting close to his 'up or out' point by now, though.

TBH, we're probably in an Abdullah/Green/Heard situation right now. There might be four guys in the top group right now, but don't plan on those four all being here next year...
