*** 2022 Recruiting ***

I'm sure they have, but I'd imagine they're looking walk-on with his lack of offers. The numbers are there, but I'm not sure there's enough for a full scholly. Hope we can keep him in state but doesn't seem like there's a lot of competition so walk-on is the way to go.

 
No official visitors expected this weekend.  But we are bringing in a few 2022 guys that may be candidates for an offer.

A bunch of 2023 and a few 2024 guys also.

 
Since this class is going to be small and developmental, do we raid the portal for the upcoming year? I believe we take the best we can get and find some guys in the portal to play and a few to sit and develop that are underclassman. What do you think they strategy is for the remainder for 2022 or are they going to take more high school guys? @Mavric

I think they'd still like a couple OLs and a couple DBs.  And they usually take some transfers so I'm sure they will again, especially with the seeming lack of traction with higher-profile high school guys right now.

I think part of it is just not really knowing how many spots they have.  How many guys are going to come back for the extra year. 

And I think it really hurt not being able to bring anyone in last year.  Look how many 2023 and 2024 guys are going to be here last week and this week.  It's a huge selling point to be able to get guys here and see what it's really like.  They just didn't have that chance with nearly as many 2022 guys.

I really think not having recruits visit last year hurt us for this class.  I also really think that, if the team keeps playing well, the February signing period might be very important to us.  We would then know who's coming back or not.

I know what you are saying ... but ... there are 4-5 guys in our radius that are absolute studs that we just didn't get a siff with ... so ... by missing out there then yes, COVID hurt with bringing in folks.  Sadly, this could have been a small and very talented class.  We simply couldn't attract the talent within our own radius.

 
Looking at the list where are the 4 star plus guys?  Prime time televised night game against a big ranked opponent on a long weekend off from school?  Am I am missing something?  They coming for other games later instead?  Sure bring in the commits yes but we needed more highly rated guys here in my opinion on a crucial recruiting weekend.
