2022 Season Notes

Max and Bryce didn't do their jobs and as a result, the first year players have been the escape goats. Suddenly now that it's warmed up these two have decided to give a little effort. We've witnessed it in football for years, we saw it in this years mens BB and now we're seeing it in baseball. In every profitable men's sport the returning players wait until it's too late before they decide to perform. In football, leaders just quit and move on. Anderson and Matthews will do the same. Disgusting examples of playing for a team, of leading and leadership but mostly just more evidence of lacking effort. Both should have been sitting the bench after their first 10 game performances and the younger players should have been given the starts. The results couldn't have been any worse. Absolute disgusting display by those 2 players. Obvious attitude issues from both.

Uh, Anderson and Matthews are sophomores right?  Didn't realize they were supposed to be the senior leaders on the team.

Anderson hit .260ish in his first 10 games so not sure what you're getting at and why there is so much vitriol in your post.

@Mavric - I know I went on a rant that is less than nonsense but I'm frustrated beyond belief. I want to be a fan always and it's getting more difficult with each sports season. I never thought our men's programs would ever be this bad. I mean there are so many non power 5 schools athletic programs that have more success then we do. We don't have a single men's sport that we can be excited about. Not one!!! In my defense, that is what caused me to lash out.

Plenty of good seats available on the wrestling team bandwagon!  Finished 5th at the NCAAs last season.  Join us!

I like wrestling. I competed at 3 state championships and was ranked my Junior and Senior seasons. (both at 119)

That said, wrestling is not a profitable sport like football, basketball and baseball. (though baseball is questionable now too)

We all know that Nebraska men's programs stick it up!! (Except for the grapplers)

Edit: Final Conference Standings per Big Ten (Huskers in the bottom half) ... Not nearly as successful as the national showing (5th) indicates:

Well, when you consider 3 of those losses are to Penn State/Iowa and Michigan who finished 1-2-3 at NCAAs the record makes a bit more sense although to be honest, dual records are pretty meaningless.  It pretty much all boils down to how you do at the Big Ten conference tourney although certainly, a good record during the year can help out for an at-large bid.

Wow, nice copy and paste job lol... you big dummy!

Anyway..

7 games left (6 conference) for the Huskers.

3 vs Illinois and 3 vs MSU.  We still have a chance to make the conf tourney.  Might need to go 4-2 :dunno

I was looking over the season and noticed an obvious trend.  Interesting I thought.

Huskers are 18-4 (.818%) when scoring 6 runs or more in a game, throughout the year.  And over the last 9 times that they scored 6 or more... 8-1 (.888%)

44-10 & 18-5 in conference.  Very Impressive.

D1 Baseball has them hosting regional as #7 seed, but nothing official.  We're still a few weeks away before official tournament seeds and pairings occur. Terps are ranked and playing like a top 10 team for sure.  Kind of pulling for them to make it to Omaha.
