Not that it upsets me, but that should make ND's recruiting very difficult.  No recruit in their right mind will believe that Brey will stick around for their entire college career.  I'm going to stay.  No, I'm going to retire.  No, I changed my mind again - I'm not retiring.

Basketball players have no problem transferring after a year or two.  If they want to play for him, great.  If he leaves after one year, that's fine, see who is hired, if they don't like him, then transfer.
