To me. He is the QB that comes in when Kaelen has already played in 4 games, HH is hurt and Dylan loses his helmet and has to come out for a play. Send in Gramstadt to take that one snap and move on.What evidence do we have for that? The fans and media seem way more interested in that possibility than the coaches. When the coaches talk QBs, they constantly and consistently talk about 3 QBs.....to the point that if one of the three are brought up, they insert the other two names. They only talk about Gramstadt when specifically asked by a media member and then it's about his experience in the meeting room or desire to coach or some other generic praise that doesn't involve him competing with the other three.
They've been very deliberate on how they talk about QBs. I wouldn't expect a surprise when the depth chart drops at this position without significant change in that approach.
Well, Jayln has 4 games and a redshirt available as does Danny K. I just heard we have 5 QBs on the roster according to the QB coach. So my depth chart is just missing Bode- who we will not see play this year. Not sure what the deal is with Luke L but he was not mentioned in the presser. What evidence do we have for that? I do not foresee Noonan in the rotation just yet. Next year I can but this year the D-Line is just too deep.Defensively, I think we will see in the rotation - Van Poppel and Noonan (lineman). Because we use a lot of fresh bodies.
I think we will see that kid out of Miami, Florida - Vincent Shavers - get in some action before the end of the year.
I don't see Malcom Hartzog playing too much - unless he just out performs everyone and their imagination on game days. He's just too little for power 4 football and a liability in the red zone. I'll give it until week 4 or 5 and that's it. Pretty good tackler though.
You have DR-15 at QB man. Throw the ball! All I know is, in my video game both E. Johnson and Dowdell are All-Americans. And Dowdell is the #1 runningback in the nation.
If it's predicted by computers, it must be true.
Fair enough. I still think HH is clear and away the #2 QB, but I get what you mean with the depth chart putting an OR next to both of them.I'm not intending to argue this point. I usually post once and move on, but this QB thing is a very delicate matter and we've seen the coaches handle it as such.
Some teams already have official depth charts out. Ours probably won't be for some time, but imagine if we put one out tomorrow and Kaelin and Gramstadt were listed as Co-Number 3. I think after spending all spring and all offseason pretending like we have 3 equal QBs and then he's listed next to the stray cat that wandered in, Kaelin might just have a legitimate gripe.
I'm guessing, but with a very strong confidence, that the first official depth chart looks like it did last year for Minnesota. Sims was listed as the starter and then Haarberg -OR- Purdy.
Yeah I agree about Noonan as he is more of an edge and coming off of last year's pre-season injury, but VP will be in the rotation on DLine. Nothing wrong being a 3rd team guy with just a few playing spots available. And DWhite loves having fresh bodies.I do not foresee Noonan in the rotation just yet. Next year I can but this year the D-Line is just too deep.
Your second line is spot on. I said it in my notes section in my OP, but Shavers is a guy that could play a big role for us later on- similar to Jalen Lloyd last year.
Hartzog will play some. If I am remembering right, he got moved to safety/Nickel last year. I don't think he will start but the new DB coach will be great for him. Some of Cooper's decisions did not favor Malcolm in any way like starting him at CB and that was the wrong spot for him. He is undersized but he plays hard and will be in the secondary rotation this year.

What’s the depth look like now? How much shifting and rearranging needs to be done with Teddy out?Hello everyone, with the season only a month away I put together a depth chart for the 2024 Huskers. This is going to be fluid with injuries and such, but I did my best to be as accurate as possible. What are your thoughts? Are there any names on this list that will change throughout the year? I tried to format it as best as I could, so let me know what you think!

Some Notes
* The running back room is going to be fluid after Emmet any of those guys could be the number 2.
* If Dylan can put up a Freshman campaign similar to Adrian we will be a dangerous team on offense. Adrian 17TD-8 INT.... Prediction for Dylan 22TD-9INT
* Could see Janiran in the fullback spot again depending on the opponent.
* Carter Nelson will have a special position and play some wide receiver
* At wide receiver, some of the players could switch between the positions
* Demetrius Bell going down is tough because he looked good in Spring Ball. Nebraska has plenty of depth at receiver to replace him.
* I feel good about the top 6 guys at linebacker. I think one of the freshmen can contribute such as Vincent Shavers.
* Blye Hill could be a starter once he is healthy.
* Safety- It's tough to predict with so many guys. Many of our safeties will be able to play different spots. I am confident in the top 7 guys to get it done on the field. Rahmir Stewart and D'Andre Barnes are guys I expect to step up and get time at safety. Stewart made some travel squads last year. I also predict one of the Defensive backs from 2024 will get playing time toward conference play. Think like Rex Guthrie or Roger Gradney.
** I think this roster overall is just better than last year. Offensively, this team almost has to take a step forward with how bad it got last year. The QB room and receiver room are so much better and the RB room, Tight End room, and Oline room will also be improved. Defensively, they lost some key guys but plenty of guys have been developing behind them. The Dline and Secondary will be the strengths of this defense. The Cornerback room is worrisome behind Tommi and some players will need to step up at LB.
***This is the most talented roster Nebraska has had in a long while. This is why Rhule has some high expectations for the 2024 Cornhuskers.
