** 2024 Opponent Preview : Illinois (Game 4) **

One note when comparing the quarterbacks or offenses. I looked up their games and Altemeyer stayed in all the way until part of the 4th quarter against E. Illinois and scored their final touchdown (45-0 was the final score). Against Central Michigan it was 13-6 at half time, so he stayed in until the 4th quarter then too. Their starting offense has been in the game a lot more than ours has, and because the 3rd game was close at half time they didn't have the luxury to "try things."

And the school is going virtual for all students I wonder if they may move up the start time to accommdate  potential weather.

A good look at Illinois mindset going into this one. I look forward to a good hard fought battle between two sides that have alot of respect for one another. Condolences to Coach Henry and his family.

Biggest game of the year so far. Need to start fast and score. Blackshirts need to shut down Illinois' game plan.

Their defense has lucked into some turnovers in my opinion after watching clips of their game against Kansas. Offense needs to play smart, don't force anything that isn't there. I'd rather they punt then turn it over.

Survive and advance.

Every time they ask a pundit the "keys to the game" they say it's coming out with a fast start.

But most games are won by the team with the best finish. I can think of tons of games, Huskers or NFL, where an offense comes out with a fully scripted first drive, marches down the field and scores. Then the opposing defense adjusts and it's never that easy again.

I want the Huskers to be the team that has the best half-time, and comes out in the third quarter having made the better adjustments.

Smart! Yeah finish good! Sounds good to me!

We haven't seen them play their best 2nd half yet. Hopefully tonight is the night.

I don't disagree but I hope we don't need to score a point the second half because the first went so well.
