** 2024 Opponent Preview : Indiana (Game 7) **

Sneaky tough road game here despite it being year 1 of a new coach. Cignetti is recruiting pretty well there already too, impressive hire so far.

 
Good for Indiana and playing well this year.  Hats off to them and their early season success.   :clap

Although the Huskers have had difficulty scoring 30-38 points in games - over the last several years - I think they will need to score 34 or more to get road Dubs against Indiana and USC.  Maybe 35-42. 

And although it is very possible, it would do them well if they actually do it.  I just don't want the Huskers getting behind and playing catch up all game - trying to trade explosive plays and touchdowns when it's absolutely needed.  

At some point soon, our offense needs to click and take it up a notch or two.

IU is definitely much improved, but just how good is TBD IMO. Their Offense hasn’t played against a D with a pulse yet. Below is a list of IU’s opponents so far, for comparison NU is 9th in scoring D at 12.2ppg.

FIU - 95th, 28ppg

W. ILL - FCS team, 123rd out of 124 in FCS, 52ppg

UCLA - 104th, 30.75ppg

Charlotte - 117th, 33.2ppg

Maryland - 56th, 21.8ppg

 
Their schedule set up perfectly for them and they have taken advantage of it, so good for them.  They could end up as a 9/10 win team this year...

Then if their coach is smart he needs to get the F out because next year they could get PSU, OSU, Michigan, Oregon and so on.

Unless he just really likes it there.

They could go 7-2 in conference this year and next year.

They have Michgan at home and are @ Ohio St this year.  Next year they are at both Oregon and Penn St.
