Colorado is a crappy football team, but a great 7v7 team. This may be the best set of WR & DB's we see this year. It may not be too much to worry about.Coach is right… Dylan is doing a great job, but Satterfield couldn’t call the normal long passes he usually calls because our receivers weren’t getting separation against equal competition. Thats not good. We shouldn’t have to call plays that look like the Shriners on scooters because we can’t compete.
Yep, CU has some freakish speed. Satterfield adjusted to CU's halftime tweaks but CU wasn't forced to counteradjust because the refs completely bailed them out. Can we make that week to week shift playing a completely different style of opponent. The new B1G will require that more than ever. We need to be able to match up with the big physical behemoths we are used to in the B1G but also be ready to play a Lincoln Riley offense. It's a tough adjustment but I think that's where a 3-3-5 scheme can be an advantage if we have the right pieces.Curious how our run defense looks early - I know it's legitimately excellent, but this is a huge change from UTEP and Colorado. Rhule even said we went into the Colorado game with the mind set that any time CU ran the ball, that was a win for us even if they went for decent yardage. This will be a good low-stakes shift in attitude. UNI obviously wants to run, and so will Illinois an Rutgers not too far down the road. If there are going to be some mis-fits and struggles with extra bodies in the run game, lets sort them out now instead of next Friday against Illinois.

I'm just now learning Valpo changed their Mascot from "Crusaders" to "Beacons". Grew up about 30 min down the road. I know they haven't been good at football in my lifetime so I would take what UNI did to them with a grain of salt.
Yeah the Pioneer is not great. The FCS conferences to worry about are Big Sky and Missouri Valley. Hoping the Blackshirts can keep the Panthers' running game in check.Think I read they are a non-scholarship program, so yeah probably not great. St. Thomas was D3 until a couple years ago, although they did win their FCS conference in their second year at that level. That conference (Pioneer Football League) doesn't look like it's a good FCS conference though, so yeah I'd say UNI has played poor competition even for an FCS school/
