CollegeFootballNews: 2024 USC Preview

USC is in the Big Ten. Really. If anything, the magnitude has been slightly underwhelming, lessened a tad with all of the other massive moves in realignment. But this is it. This is the biggest of the big ones. This is the move that changed everything.

Texas and Oklahoma going to the SEC? Yeah, huge, but that didn’t set the wheels in motion to bring down the Big 12 - although there was a thought that it was going to. Both programs sort of fit in geographically, and it’ll all feel instantly comfortable with Texas A&M, Missouri, Arkansas, and LSU.

Rutgers is 2,752 miles away from USC, and the two are kicking off at 11 pm ET. USC turned the Big Ten into the superpower conference in the business of college athletics, and it marked the end of the Pac-12.

UCLA, too, but getting USC means the Big Ten is in Los Angeles. It’s now a coast-to-coast conference with a true national reach, it owns the second-largest media market, and … it’s USC. When the Trojans are really good, they’re a national college football program. Now they have to play up to the significance of who and what they are.

Forgot they were even in the B1G let alone on our schedule. I’m just looking forward to the first few games.
mince this one rolls around I’ll either be super excited or hope that we just play well.
I don’t think USC is gonna be a firebrand team like OU that Riley left behind.  I’m most excited to watch over the next 3-5 yrs when these warm weather teams have to play on the plains or upper east.

I found it very interesting that, after torching sCUm last week, Paul Finebaum is floating the idea that Riley gets fired after this season and Prime replaces him.
Does anyone really listen to Paul Finebaum?  He's an SEC shill & doesn't know crap about crap.  I'd listen to him about football about as much as I'd listen to him about hair care products.

While I would be shocked...USC also has zero fans and no one really talks about them all that much.

They got that splash hire with Lincoln Riley but he is also sort of a dud when it comes to being "cool" and he is not winning a lot.

USC has a very odd history.  Take away what PC did and they basically have been as lame as Michigan for the last 50+ years or so.

Prime would make them super popular and super hated, both work.

It's going to take more than one 'bad year' for Lincoln Riley to not be Lincoln Riley. The PAC was very, very good last year and i don't think they were ready for that. Still, we're talking about a coach that in 7 years has (5) 2 loss seasons, a 3 loss season, and now a 5 loss season. They were still the 3rd highest per game scoring team, and outscored their opponents on the season by 97 points.

This isn't Iowa that outscored their opponents by 9 total points and you have to wonder where the offense is going to come from. USC has the kind of talent that can turn a defense around quickly. Lincoln Riley has shown time and again he can replace a QB and still score a ton of points.

I thought it was really strange coming from him too. I was shocked to hear him talk about anything other than the $EC.

Just saw Brian Kelly talking to Nebraska’s hottest defensive coordinator on the LSU sideline. Couldn’t even remember his name and had to search for awhile.

Bob Diaco is currently a defensive analyst for LSU.

Anyhow, USC looked good today.
