Think i got my answer - assuming he was the backup plan for Benning and committed to a spot that wasn't available yet.  Or maybe the DB who decommitted from Wisconsin is higher on the board.

I understand the reasoning.  And some latitude for the first full recruiting class.

But not all that great of a look to be cutting several guys, especially right before signing day.
I agree, but at the same time I think we are all adjusting to the new way of college football. It used to be universities would stand by their commits and commits would stand by their university. But now with NIL and transfer portal. The kids are looking out for themselves and switching teams left and right. So honestly the schools need to put their interests first just like the kids are. In this instance raiola opens tons of doors to higher profile kids who can flip our program faster so we probably would be wise to keep some spots open. 
 

not saying I like the cutthroat mentality but it’s the direction it’s going and the big dogs play that way so if we want to get back to the top play the game
