If one (like me) is disgusted with the NCAA awarding 6 or 7 regionals to the SEC and 10-12 regionals to the southern conferences.. Well, numbers don't lie and in the numbers is the answer to the why? It is so flipping disappointing to me as a baseball fan to suffer through a season knowing the only way northern schools host over southern schools is by having at least 40 wins. I hoped the addition of USC, UCLA, Oregon & Washington would help the B1G's chances but.. the chart will show the truth and sadly, numbers do matter.

I looked forward and saw this was still scheduled to be on B1G+ and just laughed thinking, yep...typical.

Nebraska has earned the right to be on the B1G network more than every other school.. Heck, more than any 3 other schools combined. Attendance nearly triples the next highest team. That fan loyalty should be rewarded by televising said teams games on your main media network. If the B1G is only going to show 30 games a year at least 10 of those games should be Husker home games. Why? Because the B1G can't pay people to show up anywhere else. Maybe partially because the B1G refuses to promote the sport. Ugh... as a baseball fan I flippin Hate, I mean HATE how the B1G ignores the sport!! Pathetic!!!

Just for fun, looking ahead to the Big 10 tournament. Who starts game 1? Obviously, this is just a fun conversation… Game 1 is huge. Can’t be Sears or MM if they throw Thursday and Friday. Do you see how Thursday and Friday go, and if we are locked into a position, do you save Brockett….. Clark has been very solid the past 3 weeks, or did Christo do enough in his 4 innings to earn anyone’s trust?

Sears will be the game 1, seriously, Huskers are in a conference crown race. Sears, McConaughey, Brocket. With Sears and McConaughey on pitch counts. Let throw 70-75 pitches and turn it over to the bully.

With our bullpen performance? Pitch count will depend on what inning. I will say that our pen has looked better lately.

The regular season conference crown in a conference that will get more than 1 team into post season is actually more important for seeding purpose than winning the conference tourney. How often do we see high seeded teams just throw in the towel in conference tourneys as to rest their pitching staffs for 2 grueling weeks of post season play? However, if they have a chance for that regular season crown, it's balls to the walls and go get it.. The regular season crown in legit baseball conferences "is" the more coveted crown over the conference tourney crown.
Bolt wants that regular season crown even if it's shared with either Illinois or Purdue (maybe all 3). Husker hold destiny in their own hands. They can sweep and win it outright. They can win the series and share it or they can lose the series and lose any chance of a share... They control their destiny and Bolt & Company want that title. They'll sacrifice the tourney for that crown as they should.

You may be right, but I was hearing yesterday that they would not bring Sears back on only 4 days rest. MM would have less rest. I guess it depends on how deep they go vs MSU

With this team, I hope the staff takes the "balls to the wall" approach. Then, let the postseason fall however it falls. It's not like we expect to go deep into the NCAA tourney. Do whatever you can to win something NOW.

Correct, try to get conference crown and push for conference tournament. They have played above predictions, but finish it with some form of title….make a regional and stick around as long as possible

There is a reason Nebraska is the highest seeded 2. Sears and McConaughey pose a problem to any team they face and in the regional a team can win it throwing 3 arms only. Currently we are projected as the 2 seed in the Indiana State series.. Husker Nation will blow that stadium up and yes, we'll have a high HIGH chance of advancing if Sears wins his start. The #8 seed is projected to be East Carolina and in a stadium like theirs.. you bet anything can happen. So.. to say "it's not like we expect to go deep" is simply not true. I expect Nebraska to reach the super and from there anything can happen.

OK...that's great.
But, I still think we need to concentrate on winning something NOW and not count on that.

If we Play Tuesday it will be Sears Thursday/Tuesday. If we play Wednesday Rob may utilize keeping him on schedule and go Thursday/ Thursday. Not my opinion, just what I was told.
