2024 Transfer Portal Ins/Outs

Schools will use JUCOs like a minor league system. Let guys they are interested in but may be reaches or not takes right away develop for a year or two before calling them up.

Patrick Payton out of FSU hit the portal and apparently there is a lot of speculation that Nebraska is in a good position to land him.  Top rated edge rusher on the 247 transfer rankings.  I think Phil Simpson already has a connection with him being that Phil just came from FSU.  Also he is the second highest overall transfer portal player on the board.  He only has one more year of eligibility and was briefly committed to Nebraska coming out of highschool.  It would be a great pick up if Nebraska does land him.

Iowa Western!  If some guy puts it all together and blows up his first year after a 2-year JUCO stint he might be off to the NFL.  Interesting times in the sports world.  NCAA seems toothless.

Was anyone else expecting this to be a bunch of photos of shirtless transfer players, so we could see whether they have innies or outies?

Where are the actual linebackers? To my knowledge we only have 2 on scholarship (I am not counting Edge players like Nwaneri, McGahee, Jones, Merrit).

Shavers
Rodgers (didn't really play this year)
Genatone (only played ST)

In a 3-3-5 scheme, why wouldn't you count edge guys?  Aren't they linebackers?

If not, you're basically asking who are on scholarship for one position on the field, correct?

They probably feel confident with those guys and probably plan on playing Jones.

Do we know if Wright is coming back?  He has a medical year if he wants it.
