2024 Transfer Portal Ins/Outs

Very nice job done by the Husker staff, if I may say so.  Addressing all areas of need, some starters and some depth/rotational guys.   :clap

2 athletic freaks on Def - Nwaneri (Missouri) & McCullough (OU) - Young defenders that will get to the QB - both may have been 5 stars out of HS...

Got a Punter
Got a Long Snapper

2 stud wideouts/Receivers for Dylan - Hunter (Cal), Key (Kentucky)

QB2 - Dylan's backup (and a good one - Marcos Davila)

New OT - Pritchett (Alabama starter, 5 star kid, sky is the limit)

New OG - Rocco (Notre Dame) likely starter or rotational guy / depth

Some DLine beef - Moore (Miss State), George (E Tenn State)

Talented LB - Watson-Trent (Georgia Tech) - much needed area

Some DBs and a third WR

Agree. Only area of weakness Rhule didn’t address sufficiently, in my eyes, is DT. Not sure the 2 DL we got in the portal will be anything but depth. We likely needed a plug and play starter. Otherwise, outstanding portal class.

Agree we didn't get a stud replacement for Nash.  But, it did take him awhile to become a stud.  So don't forget about that.  I think with the 2 new DL guys it will bring out more competition and the cream will rise to the top.  And also, with Butler as DC, we might see more concepts using 4-3 in certain Big Ten games without a NT of course.  So the more bigger beefy guys you have for a rotation, the better.  Keep them fresh.  They will get better.

Wake me up when that average rating score looks like Oregon's. The high ranking is mostly just from quantity; the quality is about the same as we've had for the last 20 years.

I would add to that, let me know when we get an incoming class that actually develops into greater than 50% solid contributors instead of our usual 23% hit rate.

If you go to ON3 team transfer rankings Nebraska is ranked 40th compared to 247's 5th.  That is a huge discrepancy.

The portal rankings are inexplicably more erratic than the HS rankings.   Pitts #1 CB last season (Ryland Gandy) is rated around 45 by 247 and 115 by ON3 at the CB position alone.  Those should be his overall rankings.  Indiana got a steal.
