2025 Spring Practice Notes - Offensive Line

Spindler expected to be the #1 at RG

Pritchett expected to be #1 at one of the tackle spots (gets the first shot at LT)

Evans could be LG or C

Sledge and Maciejczak also getting looks at C

One surprising (to me) thing I've seen several times recently is Lutovsky is expected to get a long look at RT.  Possibly due to injuries (Guttola, Prochazka and Corcoran all hurt) but there seems to be legitimate interest in seeing if he can be the answer there.

Good info.  Pretty interesting about Lutovsky getting looks at RT.  Him being mostly a RG and now it's Spindlers.

I like Guttola and don't remember him dealing with injuries toward the end of the year.  I wonder if he can make the switch to RT if Pritchett gets the LT position.

JEJ seems a bit short, even listed at 6'1.  Would probably make a better Center than a Big Ten left Guard.  Also interested in seeing if Sam Sledge earns the Center job.  I know they have been high on him and Maciejczak.

I would not mind if Corcoran and Prochazka become depth and rotational guys on the 2-deep, and occasional spot start if needed.  I don't feel comfortable with their injuries.

I saw some of the clips with Grant Brix in it and you can just see that he needs a ton of development. He's definitely not a tackle and someone who can move well for that position. He needs at least two more years of development.

I think our staff is going to buy LT's for the next couple of years.
Going to have to.  Games are won in the trenches.  Past 2 years we've had a DL that could bang in the trenches.  OL, not so much.  Regardless of how much Dylan has improved and our receiver group, poor OL play negates a lot of that.  Harder to scheme when Dana can't run his whole O.  It's early, but I'm really hoping this is our year to make some noise.

The OL has gotten better every year since Donnie got here. He definitely is not the best recruiter and OT depth feels pretty lackluster but they’ve definitely been better.

I think winning solves that position, along with RB. We have a big year and some elite talent will get back filled. I just don't see us waiting on a young LT while Dylan is here. We will see how it plays out with Gunnar gets back because he may solve that issue going into '26.
