I like Freedom at DE. There was some chatter that he would be an OLB in the new scheme, but I don't think he has the quickness to do so. He should have the size and strength to do well as a 3-4 DE.

As do I. Move guys like Alex Lewis to OLB.

Agreed. I think he played with too high of pad level at times and lost leverage as a result. Hopefully the increased weight and some technique adjustments will help.

he doesn't move very well so he struggled to get off blocks. at nose he won't really need to get off blocks just hold the poa. at least my interpretation

he was at 270 last season and at that weight he will have no choice to be a DE

Imo he struggled to hold the POA.

In an interview with Carriker, Mick said he is up to 310 now. Also mentioned how they've talked about using an over front in some cases, which will present more like a typical 4-3.

That all sounds promising.

Said he s bigger and really hasn't felt "slower". IIRC, he's gained like 70 lbs since he got here. 20 lbs over winter conditioning.
