Actually, I retract my first post. This might be Ron Brown related, but not the way people think.

I'm hearing insider rumblings that Ron Brown's "great honor" that he would love might end up happening within the next month or two. If so, Aaron has a very close relationship with him and if this is something that is making it's way through the rumor mill around Lincoln then it might play into Aaron's decision. I meant earlier to say that Aaron leaving wasn't because of a disharmony with RB, but it might have to do with harmony.

This started well before Coach Brown's decision to speak at the Omaha City Council meeting, and any repercussions related to it, if that's what you're referring to.

Only noting that Ron Brown's lack of job security might play a role in Aaron wanting to leave because Aaron is close to him. Nothing more or less.

I quoted your post where you said Coach Brown may get fired. Now you're saying it's just speculation? That's odd.

When Green, Abdullah and Heard all ended up in the same class, this scenario became much more likely. It's a numbers game. It sucks to see a guy go. I didn't want to see it happen, but... here we are.

Also, Shark mentioning the Big XII as a more likely home for Green's skill set could be prophetic. We'll have to see how it plays out.

Just to diffuse the talk before it starts, I think this would be crazy speculation. There's no reason to suspect this is the case at all.

How can you say the tough schedule wears on a team throughout the season but it's not the toughness that led to our losses against teams we should beat? Maybe I wasn't clear. The schedule will affect a team's overall performance. Think back to TO's power teams. They could often sit their starters in the 4th quarter. Not having to play a full 4 quarters of intense football makes a big difference. As far as I'm concerned, TCU never had teams Nebraska couldn't beat. I just don't see how you could switch the schedule's and not have Nebraska ending up with the better record. TCU would almost certainly drop a game it wasn't supposed to.

That said. We do lose games we shouldn't but who doesn't? When was the last time Nebraska had a head coach that didn't? Even TO got beat by ISU right before they made their big run.

You're arguing the tough schedule causes wear and tear (which I agree w/ by year end), but the first 3 losses that I think we should have won came in games #4, #7, #6. Washington 2.0 came after 3 weeks off. And Northwestern came after a bye week, a Minnesota win, and another a big win where just like you said - our starters should have been sitting for the 4th quarter. Keep in mind the first 4 are usually creampuffs. TCU probably plays a tougher first set of games than Nebraska does. It's not like we're losing the 10th game.

So to say we're losing these games because we're nicked up, and we wouldn't be against lesser competition is wrong. We're losing early games, that follow us playing lesser competition than even TCU plays in the MWC.

You don't commit to a University because of one coach and if thats the reason why Aaron is leaving than I say don't let the door hit ya where the sun don't shine. Aaron still has an older brother playing and according to Green's Father, Aaron and Andrew have a tight relationship, plus he has a close relationship with Ameer.

I just think that Ameer was out performing him this spring and Aaron was frustrated in not playing that much this past year. I also think that Aaron was a little jealous that his buddy Brown was having a better season at Texas and Green wasn't doing crap at Nebraska.

Agreed, I was trying to be a little more intentional with my semantics. I've heard a few people with direct personal relations inside the athletic department commenting on the likelihood or favorable climate towards Ron Brown not being here much longer. They don't know for sure, nor do I. I trust their word, but you certainly do not need to. Time will tell.

With no information whatsoever the only things I can say is that I don't agree with the decision to leave a program like Nebraska where you'd be in line to start come 2013. I'm sure more reasons will come out in the next few days, but for now good luck to Mr. Green. We want players who love this program and would be able to call it home.
