Ads at the bottom of the page?

Just a thought, is there an easy way to opt out via a subscription? One of the other forums I frequent (a tech/gaming forum) does this. I'm not sure of the costing logistics, but I know there's gotta be a handful of people who'd pay a nominal fee to help the board, and keep the ads out too.
That's a thought

I have to agree. This is getting out of hand. Moiraine apparently saw NSFW content in the ads, so perhaps that's a complaint we can raise. If there are any non popup type alternatives they can offer us, I'd like to see that happen.

There has to be a better way. This is ticking people off and I literally have no answers for them.

Agree with zoogs. I don't think it wouldn't be as big of a deal if there were at least "legitimate" ads and not click-baity shock links. I don't know what the options are but I would hope there is something better than this one. It's becoming a point of ridicule at best and a deterrant to visiting the board at worst.

And I think the members would appreciate some sort of explaination directly from the guys making the decisions. zoogs has tried but it's not the same.

Also, if the "pay to get rid of the ads" is too cumbersome to implement on an individual basis, would it be possible to reset the fundraiser to avoid having the ads? As in, if there is a target dollar amount per month, can the fundraiser goal be set such that if the target is reached for a month there aren't any ads for the next month? There have been several members that have stated that they'd be willing to contribute something to have have to deal with those ads. If the dollar amount is reachable it could help to have people encouraging each other to make a contribution to reach the goal together.

Just a thought.

What are ya'll thinking? I just looked at the board feedback thread, and it's kinda bad. What's the $$$ needed to kill the ads for at least a month while we figure out the donation thing people asked about?
