Ads/board moderation

I have noticed for the last several weeks that even on desktop the board never completes loading.  The circle just spins and spins and (I don't think) ever finishes.

This has been happening on mobile for some time (I noted it in my post above from January) but I hadn't noticed it on desktop until recently.

I haven't really seen it cause issues on desktop yet but it seems to me that it has to be the same thing that is causing the refreshes on mobile.  It is pretty annoying when you have a longer post typed up but the page refreshes before you can post it so you have to start over.  I don't know what can be done but it seems to me that something about whoever is doing to programming to ad the advertisements has something haywire.

@Mavric Questions from ad ops. Are you using a Mac or PC? What browser? Is it spinning with the mouse pointer? Desktop or tablet?

Right now I'm on a desktop PC using Chrome.  Just to see I also opened Edge and got the same thing.

I've also seen it on my iPad running Chrome

It's the icon in the tab title left of the lettering that indicates the page is still loading.  You can also see that the X below it would still let you click it to "Stop loading this page." It's not changing to the "Reload this page" circular arrow like it should when the page completes loading.

Board performance is completely tanked right now.  Seems like it's been getting worse the last few days.  Tweets taking 5-10x longer to resolve.  Board freezes in the middle of typing.  Page still not completely loading.

According to the Admin dashboard, the System is taking up 60% of the available processing power.  I don't know what it usually runs but it was at 40% a few minutes ago.  Not sure if that has anything to do with it but it might be worth asking.

I still think the ads are not getting implemed correctly and are sucking up all the resources.

It took me several minutes to type this because the board keeps freezing.  I'm not having that issue on other web pages.

@BigRedMax I've gotten a Web Page Blocked message twice in the last couple of days with the following information:

Honestly, the ad at the top of the page is super annoying.  It's fine that it's there but I don't know why it can't just be there all the time.  It slides in after the page loads.  Sometimes it moves the page down, sometimes it covers something up.  So that's why it's hard to see the notifications sometimes (the ad slides down to cover the icon up).  And sometimes you go to click on something but the ad loads, slides the page down and you click on something else.

@BigRedMax

Totally forgot about it. Sent it to programmer today. He will also do an Invision update and let us know when it is scheduled.

Did they ever look at this?

Also, the full page ad that was referenced in the public thread is popping up more than every 8 hours.  I got it just before I left for lunch, left my browser open and got it again when I got back, about an hour later.  Also, that one is kind of annoying in that it disrupts the last unread post process.  If you're going to other pages it's not so bad but if you've clicked to go into a thread it just takes you to the last post, instead of the last unread post that you were expecting.  Then you have to scroll back up and try to figure out which posts you haven't read yet.

Feedback from ad support. Google controls it through Google Ad Manager. Right now the ad revenue is so low you are making more that I am. Have to keep it on or really go down the drain.

We have relayed feedback to our Google rep on some issues we have seen.  He has passed it to the appropriate team on their side.
