Ads inside of threads are too intrusive.

I have had several issues with my school computer using this site over the past couple of weeks.  My school may block it.  Then bye-bye Huskerboard for me.

I just don't get it.  Yes, ads are the income stream.  But, there that for many other sites where they are not nearly as intrusive as they are for this site.  There are times I just have to put my phone down and not even try.  If it gets that way on my computer, then I'll have to find another Husker board somewhere.

Another issue with this site for mobile is the page loads in a way that you feel like you can click on the top of the page to see your mentions or bottom once it loads, however, sneakily the ads then load just a bit slower than the page in general causing you to click on the ad and be redirected.   

I’m not sure if this is done on purpose (I certainly have my thoughts) but it’s kinda bullcrap if you ask me.   
 

And now you not only have ads at the top and bottom of the screen taking up 30% of the screen, but now a full page ad shows up when trying to click on a users post the firsts time or two after logging in.   And once you get past all that to finally use the site, it refreshes three times before one can scroll to bottom of a topic page.

This!!!  I have the same thoughts. 

 
When I visit HB and click on any thread title, it takes me to the thread, and immediately I get

It happens only once, the first time I go to HB.  But if I go to HB 20 times a day, that's 20 times it happens.  Been going on for 6 or 7 weeks.

Happens on desktop only.  Running Windows Vista.  Google Chrome.  Also happens on Win 7 and 10 with different machines.    

It does not happen on any other website I visit in the world.  Only on Huskerboard.  :(

Are you logging out and back in? It should only happen once every 8 hours.

Thanks, and that's fine.  It's not a big problem because it's only on Desktop.  Which is easy to navigate.  Just bringing it to the table is all.

It's really as easy as clicking the back arrow button and re-clicking on the thread topic again.  And it's gone.  

Yes I login and logout a bunch and it happens each time doing that.  Also happens when I lurk.  So not just a login thing fyi..

I'm in to donate money for this cause. I'm not joking either, does somebody who knows more than me know how much it would cost in donations on a yearly basis to at least minimize the ads?

Some ads are fine, but the more ads that pop up, the sketchier this board looks. 

 
Max, on The Board is All Kinds of Broken thread there are at least a few of us willing to pay good money for an ad-free version of HuskerBoard.

If that's possible can you tell us what it might cost and how many participants are needed.

I will set it up for $25 a year if there are at least five posters that are interested.
