WOW! That's a tough one..............how many warnings does he have? I understand he's wasted, but obviously not much if he thought about asking you not to ban him? Not that what he said isn't true, cause it is!

 
He's wasted, the thread's locked, it's just after the game. I unapproved it and I think it could use a move to the offending posts thread. I think I would just leave it alone otherwise. Maybe warn him but I think he would get the message better without a warning. i.e, he knows he can't be posting stuff like that. Continuing to warn him without taking further action might give him the impression that there isn't going to be any. On the other hand, we can say nothing and on top of knowing he was wrong, he can know that he's dangling on the edge of some leniency.

I'm assuming we don't want to take any real action. tschu is one of a lot of younger users who get mad/inebriated/fly off the handle at times, but isn't a problem user, and we're also during that post-game mini grace period where we usually give everyone a little extra rope.

This guy has had three warnings already - each and every one for personal attacks. I'm fine with letting it sort of slide this time, but only on the condition that you PM him and tell him that he's used up his excuses, and the next infraction, no matter how minor, results in a ban.

If he can't stay under control, he needs to stop drinking. And like BRI noted, he wasn't so wasted that he didn't think to plead for forgiveness. That says a lot - he knew he was violating the rules, but he went ahead and did it anyway. Personally, I don't have much sympathy with the "Oh, forgive me - I just couldn't help myself" act.

I'd be in favor of a one week suspension with a zero tolerance policy going forward. He knew what he was doing and he did it anyways. Seems to be a pattern with this cat, and like AR said, he needs to accept some responsibility for posts like this.

tschu, we've talked this over for the last couple of days in the Mod forum. Everyone saw your rant from Saturday night, where you ended with a request not to be banned. In the past year you've been given three separate warnings for personal attacks. Three personal attacks typically mean a ban. This one from Saturday would count as #4.
That's where we stand. Here's what we're going to do. Starting today, right now, no more personal attacks. Nothing even remotely personal about any other member, at all. If any of the Mods see this again, they're going to pull the plug, and it will be final.

You're a smart guy. You're too smart for this. Don't get yourself kicked out of here.

Yeah, you guys were right. Good call on this one. I think I'm too lenient sometimes. I still don't see him as somebody who is out there to cause trouble, though...for instance, guys like Cactusboy who made it their life calling to be snarky and difficult and line-skirting. Hopefully he just simmers down. Good PM, Lance :)
