Team HuskerBoard
I copied and pasted a reply I was going to send in another thread in our forum. I thought I would post in a new thread so we could all see it.
I would like us to always use please and thank you. Even if the member calls your momma a slut. Be nice! Customer service will go a lot farther than arguing or becoming combative. I'm not saying this because it's happened or happening, but because we have new folks and this is always a good reminder.
Something I always use to approach a member with is, "We have had a few memebers send us PM's about some of your posts, please just be aware of what and where you are posting certain content. (GIve a specific example) Does that make sense? If you have any questions about posting, please feel free to PM me and we can talk about it. Thank for your time and thanks for being a memeber."
Have I ever been perfect?....absolutely freakin not...and no one will. But if you ever feel yourself getting agitated, step away from the computer and let it go for another day. Don't even reply. There are very few things that ever happen on this board that need to be dealt with at that particular moment. Post what has occurred up to that moment and let the team have some input.
Up to this moment, all you new guys have surpassed all of my expectations for how well you have done up to this point. We are very thankful to have had the older moderators have such a good scope of the current members to nominate the new guys. You guys are really doing well. Thanks for everything and thanks for all you are doing.

And that's exactly the type of message we always want to send. We need to be like the bouncers in the bar who are always using please and thank you when dealing with drunk people. We know how difficult that can be, especially when they needed to deal with someone like me in my younger years. As dumb as it sounds, just like the movie "Roadhouse" with Patrick Swayze. Be nice!Sent him a message over the weekend, very politely worded, and he never responded. However, Sunday and today I've noticed that he's visited my profile page, and mysteriously my Reputation gets voted down once or twice about the same time.![]()
