Another idea for a contest.

How does this look?

Attention Huskerboard members!! We're having our first annul greatest Husker room/basement contest. Your goal is to create the most interesting video displaying your precious Husker room/basement.

The video is open to your intrepretation. For example, some people will just take pictures, some people will take video or combine both, some people will have music and other won't. Everything is open. Winner will be chosen by Huskerboard members on Thursday night, October 8, 2009 @ 6pm.

Rules and Regulations:

1. If you include music, please don't use commercially available songs as it will cause it to be pulled.

2. The opening and closing needs a HuskerBoard.com/HuskerNation.com logo.

3. Be sure that the meta data includes every reference possible for Huskers - Huskers, Nebraska, Cornhuskers, Blackshirts, etc.

Winner will be granted a $100 gift certificate to Huskernation.com.
Looks great to me. However, can we drop the word "precious"? Seems somewhat...effete.

effete..................is that French or something?

I was thinking of posting this in the main forum and asking for ideas before making it official. What do you guys think?

Also agree. One other point I just noticed - we do want to instruct contestents that they need to post the video to YouTube and provide a link to it when they submit it on the Board. We never really make that clear in the message, so we probably need to add it.

This look a little better?

By George - I think he's got it!

Two things:

1. Should we provide the logo we want them to use for HB or HN?

2. I might be able to do the advertising video, but I'm not sure I want my face to be THE face of this thing.

3. If we need a HB google account, I created one a couple years ago. Speaking of that, we can use it for anything if we need to. (huskerboard<at>gmail.com)

I know, I can't count

1. Hmmmm - on the one hand, I'm inclined to say they should use our current banners for both, just so they are familiar when someone visits the board after seeing the video. On the other hand, I'd like to see how creative they can be - their banner ideas wouldn't be limited to the constraints we have for the Board (size, etc.) and they might do something that would draw the viewer on the banner alone.

2. I think the idea would be a compilation video featuring snippets from the submissions - that's the way I took it.

3. Have to keep that in mind. Possibilities...

Here are some 'mini-banners' to use on the opening of the videos.
