Any Preferred Names if Fred Hoiberg gets fired?

Couple ideas in no particular order:

Grant McCasland - Was under Scott Drew for 5 years, has North Texas relatively competitive every year in CUSA. Won a tournament game against Purdue.

Niko Medved - Completely turned around Furman's program, won 20+ games at CSU the past 3 years.

Darian DeVries from Drake is probably the best recruiter in the midwest that isn't already a major conference coach.

If the Huskers finish in the bottom 3 of the Big Ten this year (as pretty much every publication is predicting) and Hoiberg doesn't get fired, then Trev clearly doesn't care about the basketball program and my energy would be better spent elsewhere.

I know TA cares otherwise he wouldn't have accepted the job in the first place. I think the shine on Fred Hoiberg has went away bc he doesn't really have great developers or great recruiters as coaches on his staff.  His style of basketball may be great but we haven't even come close to seeing a good product bc of how bad the teams have been. Fred Hoiberg definitely has a tall task ahead of him this season and its my believe that if he has another season like his last one he will be gone and TA will definitely bring in a outside coach.  Nebraska basketball has to matter too!!!!!!

Im with you on Nebraska basketball. I started this topic bc I care for Nebraska athletic's and want every sport to succeed. Yes Nebraska has always been a football/volleyball school and I thank you for your input. Darian DeVries is really good name that I would definitely take.

Goofy it is.

A name I would recommend is Chris Mack.

He had a great run at Xavier and made a final four and a few elite eights. Louisville kinda gave him the short end of the stick and he had to deal with the covid year as well. He has a 67 percent win percentage as a head coach and a 68(Xavier) and 62(UL) percent win percentage in conference. He also has a solid record in the NCAA tourney.

Big Ten $$ >>> Big East $$  Would you want Trev to kick the tires on Greg McDermott?  He's doing good things at Creighton, and we could double his salary and have him move 50 miles west.

Kelvin Sampson at Houston might be worth a call.  I know he had some issues at Oklahoma & Indiana with the NCAA, but it was over too many calls/texts to recruits which are now unlimited.

Do Husker fans care enough about Nebraska basketball? I ask bc does the next hire have to be a so called splash hire if Fred gets fired? I ask bc Nebraska basketball seems dead in the water.
