Any reason why Alex Lewis shouldn't/doesn't start?

Colorado transfer Alex Lewis, a junior, has shared time with freshman David Knevel as the first-team left tackle. The 6-6, 290-pound Lewis started 12 games with the Buffaloes in 2012. He was not with the Huskers in the fall because of legal issues but has made his presence felt quickly this week. “He’s picked things up pretty good,” Pelini said. “He plays with a good motor. He has experience, which obviously helps. He likes to compete, which is a good thing.” On Wednesday, as Nebraska donned full pads for the first time this spring, Lewis and Gregory got especially competitive in drills. Gregory described their matchup as a “battle” and spoke highly of Lewis. “He’s got the body for it. He’s built for the position. He can move.”

"Because Sipple said so" Come on man

Read what I quoted, I also posted a link for reference. Now please, step off your high horse and quit reading into things! As far as what happened with Lewis in Colorado, you, myself or ANYONE else doesn't know jack sh#t of what happened. I am not giving Lewis a pass on what happened, but I am just saying that comparing him to Incognito is an absolute joke.

A friend of mine that has pretty decent layman football knowledge watched some film on Colorado and said that Lewis was an absolute monster for them.

Barring injury I don't see there is any way that he doesn't become our starting left tackle next fall.

Because he is basically the exact same person as Richie Incognito.

I should think that Lewis has a good shot at being a fine player at NU. He has, essentially, already proven himself on the field at this level elsewhere.

Lewis is not the only OL that may be really good. Givens-Price, Corey Whittaker, and at least 4-5 others who have not yet seen the field have all sorts of promise --- or, at least, their press clippings and highlight tapes all indicate great promise. The future of the OL, while unknown because most of these guys have yet to don the "N" and play, is nonetheless promising. Hopefully these guys end up as good as we hope and anticipate they will.

Could be a one and done kid. I think he's that talented. My buddy who is a buffs fan speaks very highly of him. Says he was Colorados best lineman and it wasn't that close. I think the one spot the puffs were good at recruiting was olineman.

if that is true then they shouldn't be so bad. A great o line makes an average team much better.

Bad QB play and the coaching carousel doesn't help things.
