Any RunKeeper Users Out There?

Guys, love to know what you use to track your runs and workouts.

I've been running for almost 4 years. I've logged all my runs on RunKeeper. I would encourage anyone wanting to get into a fitness routine to log their runs and workouts. It's been great to look back at how far I've come ... as well as share my journey so others know you can start at jogging a one (1) at a 15:00 pace and 1.5 years later run a 26.2 mile marathon in 04:15:56.

Good topic. Tracking is crucial IMO.

I use thesquatrack.com to track my training.. along with my trusty notebook.

I like RunKeeper. Used to keep a spreadsheet. I don't really like running with phone in hand, though. On the other hand, if you do a run but don't record it, did it ever really happen?

Zoogs, I either have my phone in my pocket or in my fanny pack. I use to use earbuds but recently went blu-tooth. I have a Garmin 220 as well and use two devices to record my runs just in case. Nothing worse then getting in a good solid run either pace. distance or both and losing it.

I use a Garmin and download it into SportTracks. I don't share my log. I don't even run with my watch all the time. If I get in a solid run and don't record it, my body is still better for it. I like the watch because it is easy to glance at during the race to see if I'm on track for my goal, and also during training to get a feel for what pace I'm running.

When I'm seriously training for a race, like I am now, I put a 16-20 week plan in a spreadsheet with each week in a column, and a blank column below to fill in what I actually did that week to track how well I'm on plan. I train a lot better with a set plan than just saying I'll do a long run on the weekend and a few shorter runs during the week.

Whatever you do is fine too. To each their own. Sometimes I just like to run because I really like running, and not get into tracking and logging everything and making it seem like work.

Oh yeah, I can't get used to stuff moving around in my pockets either. Kind of a weird pet peeve of mine, I suppose, plenty of people have no issues taking their phone with them.

I actually am sort of in the habit of it now, but I feel like I have to hold something in my other hand too, to balance things out.

My phone has a nasty habit of occasionally encountering a network error and restarting, though. Those are the worst. If I ever get more dedicated I'll look into investing in a Garmin. It's definitely nice to run without any logging sometimes, but I always really want to see the time and pace afterwards, or I'll assume the worst.

VA Husker, lots of the apps now have training plans built into them. I've looked at Runners World and a few other free sites for plans as well but with RK I can select a 16-20 week plan for any length of race and also select novice, intermediate or advanced along with the pace or time I want and the pros give me a whole plan for free on how to get there. I used an "intermediate 2", 20 week plan for my Cowtown marathon in two weeks. Hoping to break the 4 hour barrier.
