lol, this has gotten us into a console war.
graphics arguments aside....yes the 360 is the cheaper bet (even if you pay the $449 for the larger hard drive...you won't need to if you're not an avid gamer really. I have yet to max my 20GB out. Yes, it's got a bunch of extras that you'll have to pay for. I personally have no need for wireless connection and won't buy an HD-DVD or Blu-Ray player until the format war has been fought.
Online content is a big thing with the Xbox. I don't know how PS3 works with it all, but downloading demo games is pretty damn nice on the 360. Also being able to download movies and TV shows. And if I wasn't a cheapskate I'd get the Xbox live so I could play multiplayer.
The 360 has a bunch more than just two first person shooter games. Especially if you go back and get the original Xbox games...there's a crap load. Black still looks next-gen on the 360 and I love putting that in from time to time and cranking up the surround sound. Halo 3 and Gears of War are just the two biggest ones everyone is talking about. And probably will be talking about for the next year or so. Thos are pretty big games if you are a shooter fan (although technically Gears isn't a first person shooter). The Halo trilogy actually has really revolutionized the way first person shooters are made. Online play has become HUGE since Halo 2 (and actually you can play free if you get the right software). Not to mention this new Forge idea they've come up with where you can change the multiplayer map around as you play...basically letting you decide how the map looks, where guns are, etc.
PS3 and the 360 both have their plus sides. Also for me, I really can't stand the PS3 controller. Especially since I like FPS games. The PS3's trigger never felt like a real trigger. They just felt like regular buttons and didn't have that curl around your finger to it. Imagine, BRI if your personal guns (I'm assuming you have them since you're a cop, lol) had triggers that were just a straight line up and down....it would really feel weird shooting them wouldn't it? I don't know, maybe it's just me. I say go find some buddies who have the consoles and give them a run through. Also look at the games both offer...and look at their trailers/gameplay online to see which seems more appealing. 'Cause it's the games that really matter.
LOL....you started it! :nutz
