The only downside to it is that you have to do manual updates - but then again, the program lets you know when the defitions are out of date, so that's not a big problem.

Is this like Ad-Aware, where I have to click some button to scan it now? If so, how do I do that

I'm running Version 8 (the latest) on a virtual machine running Windows XP. For scanning - the process is automatic. You can set the scan schedule. If you want to run a manual scan, right click the icon in the Systray (those icons near the clock on the taskbar at the lower right of the screen) and click to open the main console. Then, click the Computer Scanner button on the left. Then, click the link to Change Scan Settings under the Scan Whole Computer. Then, click the button at the lower right titled Start Scan.
To update your virus definitions, right click on the icon in the SysTray and click the Update Now option and follow the on-screen prompts.
