Hey guys,

Im going to be out of town this weekend, and unfortunately in the wrong one - going to Chicago, and wont be back until Monday night. Wondering if one of you would mind updating the schedule with the game results? Its really simple, & I have most of the text for the stuff that I thougth would be good to provide for postgame stuff, so its just a matter of finding links, which can mostly be found on huskerpedia.

check it out here http://www.huskerboard.com/2005_Husker_schedule.htm

what I did last season was update this and then post a link to it in the football forum, calling it "Maine game stats, pics, videos, stories" or whatever. feel free to add any other stuff to it as well.

I'll move it to the /mods directory, so you can just ftp the updated file and use that link. I'll also put a meta redirect in the other index url, so I dont have to change all the links and people who find the schedule in search engines will be redirected to the updated one.

Anyone up for it? FYI for the new guys - I had a directory set up on the huskerboard server for mods to use -- which you guys can feel free to store personal stuff on, or when you want to link pics, vids or whatever. just please remmber to never put copyright stuff out there, i.e. mp3's etc. b/c my host told me a buddy of his who provides a similar hosting servivce got fined $20K b/c one of his clients had 20 mp3s on one of his sites, which got spidered and ended up in a chat room, and was reported by the bots which are apparently now programmed to look for mp3s to report to the RIAA. anyway, just be careful what you put out there, but feel free to use as needed. some of the other mods have custom folders set up, whcih you can also do.

you can use any ftp software to get there. I use filezilla, which I believe you can find for free via download.com - or dave/frank can show you another one.

the address is www.huskerboard.com

Username:mods password:huskerboard1

post a question in this forum if you need any help with accessing this share.

the high-level link you will use is www.huskerboard.com/mods/file_name.htm

thanks for the help.

Hmmm...I suspect my wife may want to go out this Saturday - I've been under the weather so she's gotten bored with "home cooking", but if I'm available I'll do what I can. No harm if others want to do it, either.

And for FTP clients, another free one that is pretty intuative is CoreFTP.

No problem, glad youre finally outta the funk.

Actually it isnt really imperative that its updated Sat night -- Sun is perfectly fine as well -- I just didnt want to leave it un-updated until Mon night, but anytime over the weekend is great.

Done. I can't remember from last year how you handled this, but I locked it and pinned it - there seems to be plenty of threads for discussion already.

Bumping this because I think I may be busy tomorrow and may not be able to update it (can't do it tonight because the sources won't have the info until tomorrow). If anyone has some HTML experience and can do it, feel free - just post something when you do so that we don't get more than one person doing it.

The only real change is the file name - it's now 2009-nebraska-husker-football-schedule.htm. Everything else I think is the same - it's in the Mod folder, so all of us can download it and upload it.

Oh, one other thing - if you download it and edit it, and you use a WYSIWYG editor, don't bother downloading the img folder unless you just want to - since the pics are on the server, once you upload it the pics will appear again.

I've edited what I can to this point - the next opponent, previous opponent, the LLU score, and the record. All that you need to do is complete the hyperlinks for the info - the headlines, pics, quotes, videos, etc. that appear under the score (which is in red), and then post (pin and close) it up on the HuskerFootball Forum. Take a look at the last one for the VT game and you'll see what I mean. And at the same time, just unpin the VT one.

As far as editing it, here's what I do:

1. Download the file, then open it in your editor.

2. Go to the sources. I use the following:

OWH – http://www.omaha.com

LJS – http://www.journalstar.com/

UNL – http://www.huskers.com/

KETV – http://www.theomahachannel.com

WOWT – http://www.wowt.com/

ESPN – http://www.espn.com/

GII- http://www.theindependent.com/

StatePaper – http://nebraska.statepaper.com/

3. Once you're done, just upload it back to the Mods folder, then post the update notice in Husker Football forum. Here is the post you can use:

Code:
Louisiana Lafayette Game Stories, Videos, Audio, Stats & More

[size=6][color=#FF0000][b]NU [/color]55
[color=#CC0000]LLU[/color] 0[/size][/b]

Check out Louisiana Lafayette game stories, videos, audio clips, stats, & more on our [url=http://www.huskerboard.com/mods/2009-nebraska-husker-football-schedule#LL]Schedule/Results page[/url].
*Refresh your screen if updates aren't showing.
Give it the title of **Louisiana Lafayette Video, Pics, Stories, Quotes, Stats & More** and that's it.

Again, I may be able to do it, but it's looking like I may not, so if anyone wants to give it a go, feel free. If not, I'll get it late Sunday or first thing Monday.

I've already updated the Countdown clock, created the Missouri Prediction contest, updated the weekly standings for the contest, and pinned the notice of the new contest.

Thanks.
