Arizona's Mike Stoops fired

Arizona confirmed Monday it has fired coach Mike Stoops after the team started 1-5 this season.
Almost a year ago, the Wildcats were 7-1 and ranked in the top 15, but has since gone winless in 10 consecutive games against FBS opponents.

Haven't seen this posted yet. I understand he was on the hot seat, but why you fire a coach in the middle of the year if there aren't serious abuses going on just doesn't make much sense to me.
