One of my favorite Brewington memories was when Grant ran that guy over from Rutgers and Chancellor stood and looked like he needed to know if he should file a police report

I think Nelson understands he’s a long shot to make a NFL team, but he’s ready to move on from NU. He’s given 4 years to playing college football. He has improved and got himself to be 2nd team All-Big Ten honors. He should be proud of his work at NU, even if it never led to winning teams during his time. He can always have that memory of beating Iowa in his final game wearing a Cornhusker uniform. 

 
I really thought he may stay. He was the heartbeat of the team and I was hoping he would stay to be the leader of the new regimen. I agree with most that I will be pleasantly surprised if he sticks on a roster anywhere. Probably not a $$ move. I am not sure what kind of NIL deal he had, but he possibly could have made decent money by staying.

He gave his heart and soul to a program he loves, too bad it was a pathetic program during his tenure

The good news for Nelson is that he has experience in special teams coverage. Guys that contribute in ST are always the last guys to make the roster, or are used as developmental guys on the practice squad. Luke Gifford has turned into a stud ST player for the Cowboys, and makes over $1 million per year, as one of the last guys on the roster a few years ago.
