ATH Elijah Qualls [Washington Commit]

It is not an excuse, but it is in fact a legit concern.

Irie, I like you man, but I don't believe there are many other programs in less desirable locations that pull better classes than we do.
i agree we pull a lot of great kids but what makes Lincoln such an undesirable location..... is it the cold? lots of places get freezing cold. is it the town? is lincoln that sh**ty? I mean some of these other major programs are in some sh**ty middle of locations away from any town..... hell not all colleges can be in metropolitan areas. Even colleges in some towns look pretty shitti am just wondering? I know the whole state lives and breathes Huskers and i bet that hooks a lot of kids..... i also think lots of kids dont see Nebraska as flashy as the teams ESPN hypes (can someone kill those fuckheads who program ESPN)... we definetly have a stacked deck but im also not buying the distance thing... if kids dont want to come to Nebraska find the kids that do..... (simplistic drunken statement)
irie, the distance deal with a lot of these kids isn't Lincoln's location per say, but the distance away from family andfriends. It us easier travel wise for the athlete to get home, our parents to see them. TV packages help watch games for parents, but staring in a certain area near home those games are on basic packages. Also there are cases where said athlete had friends who are at said school our nearby. These are more of the factors that many are alluding to e when the distance card is used.

if Manti Teo can leave his SSUPPPEr crappy small town on Oahu and go Norte Dame then anyone can come to Lincoln!! okay well im pretty ripped and dont feel like arguing the facts or finner points so imma give up now and take your guys word for it!!! and the f'ing state semis for football are only still on the first game.... GO GOVS (f#*k YOU PUNAHOU!!)

Can we still get Qualls? Would be a great pick-up.

From Husker Journal:

DECEMBER 15, 2012. ALL TEAMS MESSAGE BOARDS

ELIJAH QUALLS, DT, 6-1, 282, PETALUMA (CASA GRANDE). CALIFORNIA

"I'm committed to Washington. I'm still committed to Washington but still take other visits. Nebraska is still calling me, UCLA, Oregon State, Arizona and a couple others." Qualls said

"Yes", When asked if he will visit Nebraska and thoughts about the Huskers. "I like the defense, all the coaches are together, they have a great team, a winning team, all the coaches know what they are doing and I like Bo Pelini."

"I think I can come in (Neb.) and help them out. I believe they are going to get things straighten everything out. All the coaches know what they are doing. It's just not them there is a lot of inconsistencies even Washington, they (UDub) have great effort and lost games they should have won." Qualls said

"They (UCLA) are a very young team. They have a players over there where I'm at. I know what its like. UCLa has great academics."

"I like all the coaches at Oregon State they are talented coach Mike Riley. They said to keep my mind open make sure I keep them in mind." Qualls said

Qualls said he played running back, D-Line, linebacker, fullback, QB in Wildcat formation. Plays offensive line too. Qualls said he didn't mind what position to play in college, all schools have different needs.

"Some are recruiting me as the D-Line, a running back. One or two schools are looking at me as a middle linebacker. It's different with each team."

"Everything," Qualls said about the Huskies. "All the coaches I connect with pretty well they're all nice. All the players want to win. Seattle is an amazing place I've been up there."

With missing on other DT's, I'd really like to get this guy to jump to us. Soft verbal to UW. Likes Pelini. This guy can come in and wreak havoc as a :throwdabones1: . Interesting he is coming in late to see us. I'll be watching this one.
